I don't think glasses free TV will even work great. Walang in-your-face 3D ang ganun like what Avatar did. Depth lang ang mangyayari. The 3D effect will be limited to the screen itself.

basically, just look at what the 3DS can achieve right now (blow it up to 42" to 65"), and imagine minor improvements in 2-3years, you'll be surprised how the tech could improve further, nobody knows.

I think the best buy now is the Samsung series 5 plasma 3D, with 2 free glasses , and 4 Shrek 3D BDs, it's full HD in 51 inches

I have and currently it's not really good. You need to find a good angle to get the best 3D effect and like I said, it doesn't have the in-your-face 3D effect that movies give out. Parang window lang ang dating kapag walang glasses. Unless we get to the point that the TV itself would generate holograms. Waiting for that to happen would be like waiting for cars that hover and fly.

seriously, the middle ground seems to be similar to LG cinema 3dtv, light and cheap passive glasses, if that tech can rival active shutter glasses in immersion, i'm sold, but that will take time.

Pangit lang sa passive ay yung drop sa vertical resolution. I read that LG will be releasing an update to increase that.

yup, disadvantage is that the passive tvs are like double in price, how much more for the 3rd gen passive tv, advantage are cheaper glasses, for example the series 5 plasmas are around 60k+ , equivalent passive LG tv is double that, and thats lcd only, not plasma

remember, you are not going to use 3D 100% of the time

Paalis na tayo sa Plasma and LCD TV.Papunta na tayo sa new generation as of now hindi pa gamitin ang 3d pero pa punta na tayo dun lalu na sa mga gamers.Kaya todo ipon para mapuno ang kaadikan sa games.Kaya kung bibili ka ng bagong tv go for 3d para wala ng isip isip mag upgrade for another year.

Guys pa help naman, balak ko kasi bumili ng 3D tv, nakakita ako Samsung ps43d490 model, kaso nung tinignan ko specs sa internet di ko maintindihan eh, baka naman may idea TEXT SPEAK VIOLATION kung maganda ba itong tv na ito. mura kasi Saudi Riyal 2700, kumpara sa Sony na SR 6000.

kelan na ba labas nung sa sony? parang mas ok nga yung sa EU bundle kase dalawa na glasses kasama..

Sony 3D display will be release here in Japan on Nov.2 for 44,980yen and its size is 24 inches, extra 3D glass is 5980yen each

finally got to see the Samsung P51D550 in action, two thumbs up! only cons i see is that you really need to be in a dark room, glare is terrible, the 3D is fabulous! the included glasses (3100 model) is very good and very light
