Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Nami, Franky, Usopp, Chopper, and Robin have all been confirmed as playable in One Piece: Pirate Warriors (or One Piece: Kaizoku Musou in Japanese). The game is slated to have a main story mode, but also mode where each character has it’s own storyline. In this character centric mode some of the Straw Hats paths intersect with one another and battles with other Straw Hats will take place! The game also has “what if†scenarios that put the Straw Hat crew in situations not seen in the One Piece manga.
You can see some of the Straw Hats in action below! We’ve seen Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji in multiple scans and videos already so this one focuses on Nami, Franky, Usopp, Chopper, and Robin. We have yet to see Brook in an in-game senario, but based on the First One Piece: Kaizoku Musou Trailer from September where he is briefly seen in the intro, it would be surprising if he isn’t in
Also, the partial scan from yesterday has been released in a higher quality. It features Crocodile, Rob Lucci in his leopard form, Kaku in his giraffe form, Wapol, and Arlong! It seems as if all of these enemies are boss battles. One Piece: Pirate Warriors is an action/adventure game, but the Crocodile vs Luffy screenshots make it look as if the game also has 1-on-1 traditional fighting game components. If so, that would certainly add to the depth of what looks to be the greatest One Piece video game ever!
One Piece PS3, One Piece: Pirate Warriors (or One Piece: Kaizoku Musou in Japanese), is the first One Piece game on the Sony PlayStation 3. It will cover One Piece Part 1 as well as some of the story contents of the One Piece timeskip. The game is in development by Omega Force and will be published by Namco Bandai Games and Tecmo Koei in Japan on March 1, 2012. A European release is rumored, but no official word has been released. Additionally, no plans have been revealed for North America.
