How to Prevent YLOD (New Info: Advantage of the Remote Play)

Ah medyo i-correct lang po natin, ang instruction ko ay:

After using the PS3, pwede na ito rekta patayin hanggang standby mode (red light). No need na the 5 minutes or so na nasa XMB. Meaning, kahit rekta shutdown from within a running game, pwede. The important thing is wag alisin sa power pagkapatay kasi yung fan umaandar pa to cool the unit gradually, and it will stop after a minute or two. Although the XMB indeed consumes lower resource than in a game, hindi na necessary na ibabad pa dun, sayang din ang 5 mins or so. Just mind the fan on standby, or better para wala nang bantay bantay, pag patay ng PS3 sa standby mode (red light), iwan nyo nalang muna then balikan to really remove from power source, like if matutulog na.

Whether fat or slim, ganun ang mechanism. Kahit sa mga projectors sa offices or other similar devices, they all follow the same principle of cooling down first via fan then saka total off.


Anyway suggestion ko lang naman po ito, kasi ang point ko lang naman eh gumagasta pa rin ng resource ang XMB, and if you're going to turn the unit off, mag-aabot din naman sa point na cool down na ang unit, whether mag XMB ka pa or rekta sa standby mode. The difference is, tipid lang sa time and keeps things simpler.

Ok po sir! Edit ko na Lang po uLit! Sir ano po ba yung PS3 mo sLim or Fat? Yung sa akin po kasi sLim po nung ginawa ko po yung stand by technique hinihintay ko pong kusang tumigiL yung pag ikot nung fan! Pero haLos 20-30 minutes ng naka stand by pero hindi pa din tumitigiL sa pag ikot yung FAN! Curious kasi ako kaya idinidikit ko yung tenga ko sa ps3 para maLaman kung umiikot yung FAN at ayun hindi siya tumitigiL hanggang naka stand by mode! bro baka kailangan pa ng mas ok na ventilation ang lalagyan ng ps3 mo, or baka medyo mainit talaga yung location mo. medyo unusual if non-stop yung fan kahit 20 mins na umaandar parin? kasi sa experience ko sa fat unit ko, either sa aircon or non-aircon room, siguro max na 3 minutes then kusa mag off na yung fan, so patayin ko na yung power source.

baka pwede mag share ng experience yung mga naka slim units din na iba, if indeed humihinto ang fan nila kusa on standby mode or not.

I have a comment on this one. You can safely TURN OFF the PS3 to the point of STANDBY (red light). When you leave it on XMB, it still does processing compared to than that its off. Like I said, on STANDBY (red light) but NOT TURN it entirely off like removing the power source. When the PS3 is on standby, its fan will still continue to run until it cools itself down (like a minute or two) and it will turn off the fan itself. When you hear that the FAN turned off, that is the time you can remove it from power source (ie. ups, avr, or even the power switch at the back in case of fat PS3).

mga pafs... i tried following this tip but the fan of my ps3 stops right after i turn off the system and on its standby mode (red light)... bkit ganun? i thought the fan will still continue to run for a minute or two? My ps3 is asian version CECH-2512B

Sir try mo pong idikit yung tenga mo sa ibabaw ng ps3 sLim maririnig mo po yung fan na gumagana pa pero mahina Lang po yung ikot niya! Pero ramdam mo na nagLaLabas pa din siya ng hangin sa Likod!

1. Ang modeL ng ps3 mo sir ay CECHH06 ang size ng GPU ay 90nm and CPU 65nm! There are 3 kinds of classic ps3 base on the size of GPU and CPU!

1st: 90nm GPU and 90nm CPU
2nd: 90nm GPU and 65nm CPU
3rd: 65nm GPU and 65nm CPU

Sir Lahat po ng ps3 classic or slim are not 100% YLOD proof! Kung tumagaL po yung PS3 mo as of now ibig sabihin maingat ka sa paggamit at weLL-ventiLLated ang iyong sorroundings!

2. About naman sa cooLing aid and accesories Like nyko!
Para po sa akin sir mas maganda pa din yung waLa kang iLaLagay na anumang mga cooLer! Kasi well engineered po ang pagkakagawa sa ating PS3 maganda ang air fLow into mapa intake at exhaust! Like what you experience na tumagaL yung ps3 mo kahit waLang tuLong ng mga intercooLer na yan! Payo ko Lang na kung naka horizontaL yung ps3 mo iangat mo ng atLeast half-inch from the surface kasi mainit po yung iLaLim ng ps3! Tignan mo na Lang po yung ginawa ko sa first page!
