lol UbiThe game also looks great on both generations of consoles. On new-gen systems the game will run at 900p on PS4 and 792p on Xbox One, at 30 frames-per-second on both consoles. While some new-gen games now offer native 1080p, Morin says it’s much more important to deliver an amazing next-gen experience than it is to push a few more pixels onto a screen. “Resolution is a number, just like framerate is a number. All those numbers are valid aspects of making games,†he says. “But you make choices about the experience you want to deliver. In our case, dynamism is everything. Exploration and expression are everything. You want to have a steady framerate, but you want to have dynamism at the core of the experience. The same goes with resolution. People tend to look at corridor shooters, for example, where there’s a corridor and all the effects are on and it’s unbelievable, and they forget that if you apply those same global effects to an open city with people around and potential car crashes and guys in multiplayer showing up without warning, the same effect is applied to a lot of dynamic elements that are happening in every frame. So it becomes magnified in cost.â€

Nakakatawa talaga magbasa ng comments sections sa kahit anong website. Gaming blogs, YouTube, news sites...
Anyway I'm still hoping it'll be a good game first and foremost. The framerate and resolution will help in the immersion experience no doubt, but solid mechanics and an engrossing story will be more important.
I mean, I understand that the game was touted as 1080p/60fps for the longest time, and now it isn't so a lot of people will be disappointed. People will be voting (or should I say not voting) with their wallets by not buying the game. But I think that hinging game purchase decisions on resolution and framerate is missing the point. You play games for the games themselves, not for their resolutions. But that's me.

Most complains i read goes like: "900p @30fps? NO BUY. Pre-order cancelled"
Nang-aasar nga yung PC users sa comment section haha.
Most of them commented that the next gen systems are "underpowered".
While others said that Infamous Second Son is running 1080p 60fps on next gen comparing it to 900p/30fps of WatchDogs
Do you agree with that?
And.. 1080p - 900p = 180p.
Is the 180p really visible or very noticeable that much to the naked eye especially moving object on the tv screen?
regarding 60fps vs 30 fps, there are games that runs 30fps yet it cheats your vision looking like it's running smooth ala-60fps right?
Yeah, MGS2 is running at 60 while MGS3 is at 30. Nobody complained. Kojima have valid reasons for MGS3 being 30. Like open jungle environment and PS2's hardware limits. MGS2 managed to be 60 coz the in-game areas are closed environments. Ubisoft maybe have valid reasons too for what they did.

i think they got mad because originally Watchdogs was advertised to run at 1080p @60fps then suddenly news broke out that the game will be running at 900p @30fps.

actually this is how you compute the picture/information loss
1080p
1920 x 1080 = 2073600 pixels
900p
1600 x 900 = 1440000 pixels
2073600 - 1440000 = 633600 pixels difference
that's 30% difference from 900p to 1080p
1080p
1920 x 1080 = 2073600 pixels
900p

Doesn't bother me at all...as long as the game plays good, the story is there and it looks decent to good on my PS4, then no complaints here. And no, I won't cancel my LE preorder and switch to a standard copy either. People who are saying that are way into graphics too much that you're missing the substance part. Just buy the game because you are having fun with it and enjoying playing it...not because it's eye candy.

yes, the difference between 900p and 1080p is noticeable, but not really a deal breaker for me (See Assassin's Creed 4 gif below for reference). Battlefield 4 for example runs at 900p, but it's a pretty sweet looking game. Medyo blurry nga lang compared to 1080p games, and there's some bad aliasing going on (some textures look pretty rough too). But I like that it plays near 60 fps, because that's important for shooters, so I get why that game had a resolution of 900p.deathzero23 wrote: And.. 1080p - 900p = 180p.

I still think that this game will get just okay reviews because it looks a bit boring to me, based on the previews, it looks like another re-skinned Ubisoft open world game (I know people in general like them, they're just not for me). Not day one for me, but will eventually buy if the game gets good feedback.

I've been on the fence on this game for a while now, going back and forth between wanting it and not wanting it mostly because it's an Ubi game, but the graphics don't seem to be a problem, I'm sure it won't look as sharp as it would have if it was 1080, but the lighting, the environments and the effects make up for it. I'm just hoping the gameplay isn't too repetitive, especially since the Game director said it's 35-40 hours long, I don't have the patience to do repetitive missions for that long -_-
