HOLD THE FORT! Thanks to the super slim for most probably two things. firstly a choice to upgrade to a newer model. secondly, an expected price drop for the slim and a probable surplus of second hand parts. so its a waiting game muna. I'll hang back and wait for user reviews and pounce at the best choice. REPAIR or REPLACE (SLIM or SUPER SLIM)

Sinubukan ko yung nasa video. Mukang di effective sa kin Naeexperience ko pa din yung shutdown. 2x ko ginawa. Normal syang tumatakbo pag ibang games or kahit nagpapatugtog ako ng music o nanunuod ng movie. Sa GOW collection talaga madalas mangyari yung shutdown. Ano kaya ang pinakaproblema nito? Ayokong isipin na overheat or heating problem kasi functioning sya sa ibang games. Binabalak ko na nga dalhin sa Sony authorized service center....may nakasubok na ba sa inyo magdala dun?

sony service center? nope. but rest assured, it will cost more than you'll be willing to shell out.

ganyang ganyan ang nangyari sa akin bro, after the first random shutdown and data recovery screen, it was alarming pero nagpeplay ulit sa mw3, marathon pa nga. stress tested it with bluray movies (avatar), music and downloaded videos. it functioned well. when it didn't turn on one day after x number of tries, i shut it down followed the video and opened my ps3 for the first time. it worked ! for a short 2-3 day span. i researched, back read forums and ordered sa internet ng new psu (brand new eadp-200db) it has yet to arrive. so after a month of waiting and worrying for my psu to reach me, i bought a power supply sa gh, sa sobrang inip (atat actually).

excited nga ako umuwi nuon. i thought the psu replacement fix WAS the fix. i crossed my fingers when i pressed the power on button..... ayun three beeps. quick yellow light. flashing red.

my slim failed last month. it was in a coma, waiting for brand spanking new parts. it died and was autopsied today and i sold it for parts at royginald's shop in Sta. Cruz, Manila. YLOD nga. sabi nila, kung naagapan baka nailigtas ko pa. when the symptoms show, have it checked by pros.

demmet i lost all my saves. my kids lost their homemade videos.

if i were you, back up your files NOW. you have the symptoms. dont wait for your ps3 to die.

in retrospect at least i learned how to open my console, fidget with the hdd, mess with the ds3(easy) and order from the internet. yey.

Thanks for the response/feedback bro. Yup, I already backed-up my files and I'm planning to bring it to an authorized service center. Sabi naman ng Sony, may estimation pa naman e...so dun ko malalaman kung magkano damage. I'm also considering Royginald's service, just in case. Sa totoo lang medyo ina-anticipate ko na din ang pagbili ng bagong unit. Sa ngayon, try ko muna paayos.

guys kamusta na ps3 nyo?. yung sakin ganyan din, ayaw mag bukas at redlight flashing.,
pero pag nabuksan naman na.. madali nalang sya mag turn on.. ang problem lang talaga pag napahinga na siya.
at pag binuksan mo ang tagal bumukas. 3beep then red light flashing.. at na encounter korin pla mag shutdown ps3,

I gotta few question mga sir.

1. Ano po ang model ng ps3 slim ang nag-a-auto shutdown? cech-xxxxx?

2. May masamang epekto ba sa ps3 slim ang matagal na pagkapahinga o hindi paglaro nito? 2 months ko nang hindi nalalaro itong ps3 slim ko "cech-2512a". I'm not playing it because i am worrying about the ylod kahit walang signs nito. I'm looking into case mods.

mine is doing the same. sa assassins creed iii story mode, may certain part ng game na i feel is taxing the machine so hard kaya nagiincrease agad yung temp ng system which leads to autoshutdown to prevent more damage. (sa assassins creed 3 sa may bird sequence na lumilipad pag lapit sa malaking puno saka nagshushutdown, tried it 3 times, dun talaga)

Restore File System - Attempts to repair all areas on the hard disk drive where files can be saved. Corrupted data may be erased if it cannot be recovered.

Rebuild Database - Deletes messages, playlists, changes made on [Information] screens, trimming information for pictures in [Photo], video thumbnails, video playback history and video resume information.

still the same, i can play tekken for hours 5hours maybe more. pero sometimes kahit sa xmb kakaopen ko pa lang autoshutdown agad. reset ko then ok na. HELP

Sir ano po ang model ng ps3 slim niyo? cech-xxxxx?

Yung pinakauna labas na ps3 slim us version 120gb. Kakatry ko TEXT SPEAK VIOLATION ulit maglaro i reinatalled the game. Dun dun at tlga namamatay sa part ng game. More than 3 years na rin kasi. HELP

Thanks for the reply sir. Kahit hindi pa nag-a-autoshutdown ang slim ko ay nagbabasa-basa rin ako sa mga forums at nanunuod ng mga videos tungkol dito. Most common cause daw ay psu "power supply unit" ng ps3 slim na nag-o-overheat or malapit na ma-ylod ang ps3 slim. Katulad ng sa fatboy ko dati bigla na lang nag-off tapos 3x beep then red light at many times na rin nangyari. Kaya nag give up na ako sa fatboy ko at ibinenta ko na lang ng mura "kesa kakaba-kaba ako habang naglalaro". Kung may mahihiraman ka ng psu ng ps3 slim ay i-test mo sa slim mo. Kung ok na at hindi na nag-a-autoshutdown ay bumili ka ng pang-replace na psu. Pero kapag nag-a-autoshutdown pa rin kahit ibang psu na ang gamit mo it means malapit na iyan "you know what i mean sir". Google is your friend sir. Search mo lang ang problem ng ps3 slim mo, ito po -> "autoshutdown ps3 slim". Sana nakatulong ako sa iyo sir.

Ye i did numerous search already, i saw this guy inadjust lang nya yung safety sumthing sa loob ng psu tapos ok na daw, kaso takot ako buksan ps3 ko hehe. Before i did tht to my fat ps3 di ko na mabalik sa dati. Ayun. Binigay ko na lang sa friend ko. Andami daming screws. Haha sana may shop na may spare psu para machek muna if un ang prob before i buy one. Reball is not an option din for kahit reflow, mahal at risky almost half price na ng brandnew din.

^ may psu si royginald. 2k. worth a try. i had the 120gb slim too. it YLODed on me. good luck!
