i'm very much concerned with the PS3 lifespan so for the record let's make a list of our units' lifespan for us to monitor how long this nextgen console will really last...

1. x--Archangel--x : Asian SG PS3 60GB classic (September 2007-October 2009) - YLOD (sold working parts) and US PS3 120GB Slim (November 2009-Present) - average playing hours during weekdays: 4 hours (naiiwan pa minsan kapag nakatulog) weekends: 8 hours

2. CECHH00_CW : Japan PS3 40GB classic (January 2008-May 2010)

3, Jemaiz07 : US version 80GB Fat ( Aug 2008-Until now buhay parin ^^) 4 to 8hours of playin and watching movies pinaka matagal ko lang time na laro eh umabot ng 14hours siguro 6times ko palang nagagawa yon

US 120GB PS3 Slim (October 2009-February 2010-SOLD) i maximized my playing hours 4-6 hours if my
sched permits me to do so, kung hindi naman, i'd rather not turn on my ps3 kung 1-2 hours lang.

5. jokster : asian 80gb cechl12 ( Feb 2009 - still playing ) every monday lang siya nagagamit (day off), 3-4 hours playing time with two hours rest in between playing time, a total of 12-16 hours a week

10. nels76: Jap PS3 60GB (Feb 6, '07 - Present). Adikan noong 2007 and 2008. As in daily for about 4 hours. I slowed down from gaming in 2009 to present. 3x reflowed na. he he he. Now, I just use it to play SACD and MP3s. Medyo nagsasawa na ako sa gaming.

14. Nero - PS3 60gb Japan w/ EE. (Dec. 22, 2007 - Present) Sobrang ayos pa. Parang bago pa rin. Thankfully wala pa ring signs ng YLOD. Three years old na siya this year, alam ko di kasing tanda ng ibang units pero thankful pa din ako. Kahit anong problems, wala pa akong naeencounter. Balak ko siguro i-upgrade ang HDD niya to 500GB or more kung makakita ng 750GB.
PS3 Slim 120gb Japan (Aug. 21, 2010 - Present) Bago pa rin, wala pang kalahating taon. Hehe

15.Swine-PS3 40GB Hong Kong...August 29 2008...weekend/holiday player lang ako...pag may magandang game,adikan talaga as in kain at tulog lang ang pahinga...nagsimula magBlinking Red Light nung July 8 2010...sabi ni Nels76 malapit na daw mapermanent YLOD 'to,nakukuha pa naman sa pilit yung pagstart-up...

16. Necronomicron_lord - PS3 40gb US Version - (November 2007 - Nov. 27, 2010) maximum hours played before is 10 hrs straight. It depends on the game. but everyday syang ginagamit..sometimes napapahinga ito ng mga 2-3 days pag nag sawa na sa games. 2x ng nag blinking red light last week...that time bumigay na..umaabot pa ako sa XMB pero pag pupunta ako sa settings nag auto shutdown na. Kaya di ko tuloy ma back up.. try ko mag reflow. I got a video how to dissemble then reassemble a ps3 from youtube.wish me luck.

19. GadgetLover - CECHL12 Asian Ps3 classic (November 2008 - PRESENT) Usage: almost all day (except school which used every late afternoon). Hope no YLODs. Coz I'm in Legazpi, and i can't afford a new one.

20. Xezcente - 60GB PS3 (August 2007 - January 2008 YLOD) R.I.P - You will be missed!!! 80GB PS3 (August 2008 - Present) Usage: Every weekend - whole day of blessed gaming nirvana. Bliss, I tell you. No issues at all.

21. _kamatis - PS3 120 Gb HongKong... (Dec 20, 2009 - Present) - No issue at all.. only the cracking popcorn thing. Weekend lang ang laro (4hr max). 2-3times a week (very seldom pa ang per week).

22. freakazoidz -PS3 Slim 160GB CECH2512A (August 2010 - Present) Usually 8-10 hours per week. Nakabox kapag hindi ginagamit.

23. dlsa0218 - PS3 slim 320GB (August 2010 - Present) I always download multiple demo games (10 and up) from PlayStation Store, I always leave my PS3 open for 3 days straight. It does heat up so I placed it on top of my laptop cooler. Never had a problem with it since then. Playtime is from 6hrs a day max

24. ejm_110 - US PS3 Slim 120GB (March 17, 2010 - Present). Average playing hours is 3-4hrs a day. Returned to box since May 28, 2010. Meaning, almost 4 months na siyang di nagagamit.

3-7x a week. 1-10hours a day. Planning to buy Slim na.

2x a week ave. 2 hrs a day. Kiddie games para sa anak ko like Sonic and LBP

Di ko na-experience YLOD or any other defects with my unit and I had 20 GB Launch PS3 unit still alive until now at masyadong abuso gamit dun, I gave it to my cousin and he does'nt have any idea on YLOD and such, kaya laro lang ng laro, he even finished FF13 on it, 160 GB PS3 sold it to a member here and a 250 GB PS3 slim which i am currently using. Got lucky I guess.

Though I did experienced some minor issues with my unit except the 160 GB one with just recently, my Slim reads a bit slow during one night, pero ngayon, Ok na ok na.
