I love how uncanny, how surreal, and how deliciously psychoanalytical it all is (also, Blake!). Still a bit wary because of Kojima's writing but this is on my radar.

I don't think this is accurate, because if it is, I doubt he'd be looking for another engine to use right now. That's why Kojima is still thinking about which engine to use, as he hasn't picked one out yet. Kojima productions was owned by Konami, so anything done by Kojima productions during their time with Konami falls under the intellectual property of Konami.
For him to use the fox engine I think he'd have to get the license to use it from Konami, and I don't think that's going to happen.
