Buying Aircon

ANG INEEEEET!

My wife and I went to the mall last night to buy an aircon pero we were clueless, to be honest. We had some research done but when faced with the real thing, we had no clue what all those numbers mean.

But we know it should be a 1.5 HP split type inverter as we have a big room. Our choices were Carrier (parang no one's recommending it anymore), Condura (out of stock, end of May pa magkakaroon), Kolin (in stock but Kolin sa Office, it leaks like twice or more a year) and Panasonic (3000 Php more than the other 3 choices but has more positive reviews, supposedly)

We don't know what to do that we ended up not buying.

Tapos 8500 php yung installation fee, I didn't realize till later that napamura ako involuntarily nung narinig ko na about 1/4 ng price yung warranted install.

Try scouting for second hand ones di hamak mas makakamura ka. You can ask from those aircon repair shops if they have spare ones. Bought mine for just 5k kasi refurb and it is a 0.5hp. Maliit lang yung unit kayang kaya buhatin kasi magaan. Mas tipid kahit matagal naka-on. Pag mataas ang HP mas mapapamahal ka kasi.

Pero syempre alalay pa rin sa paggamit. Wag isagad ang thermostat, i-timer mo na lang din. Ako kasi sa gabi lang ako madalas mag aircon, mga 6pm to 3am para madali lumamig ang room.

LG gamit namin, no problem. Isang 1.5hp at isang 0.5hp.
Saka i-consider nyo yung Floor Area ng room na paglalagyan. May akmang horsepower kada floor area.

Meron neto dati sa SM Ace Hardware, 19k yata. Hindi ito Air Cooler na nilalagyan ng crushed ice ha..As in meron na freon sa loob ito..

We prefer brand new because you know..brand new and ika-card namin kasi. Ah ok, I'll make sure na meron timer. Malamang sa gabi lang din yung magiging aircon namin. Hirap matulog kasi.

Tiningnan ko, mukhang ok na ok dahil grabe yung installation fee ng split type pero I asked around and walang nagtitinda dito. Limited choices sa Ilocos Norte. Also, fixated misis ko sa Inverter types.

We're using Koppel 2hp split type inverter and our room is around 25-30sqm. I say, go for the inverter. Mababalik naman yung pera niyo dahil sa natipid sa kuryente.

^2HP sa inyo? the room size when I had it measured was 27sqm and base sa 2 nabasa ko eh mga 1HP per 20sqm so target namin yung 1.5HP.

^Pwede na. We decided na masmalakas para lumamig agad ang room. Ang inverter type naman kapag makuha na nila yung desired temp, maintained nalang ng AC. Di na halos umaandar yung compressor sa 8 hours na usage namin.

Ah good, I thought we made a mistake. We're going with Kolin Split-type inverter 1.5HP. We're trying to find some connections para mapamura yung installation, kasi sa Laoag, Everyone has a common friend.

@deathzero23 Oh, Wala LG na split-type dito, puro window type yung LG nila.
