Let's talk about anything about video games, no matter what platform it is. What is your favorite game? Who is your favorite character? What are the recently released games? What is DLC (downloadable content)? How do I beat this boss? How do I set up my team?
Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City developer Rocksteady has reportedly invited game journalists to its studio to see its next, currently unannounced game. The title is set to be revealed next month.
This is according to IGN Beneleux reporter Jan Meijroos who tweeted about his visit to the studio before deleting his comments. However, NeoGAF screen grabbed images of his tweets before they were removed.
When asked what he had seen at Rocksteady Meijroos replied, "I'm not allowed to talk about it for a month." It seems likely that the game will be GameInformer's cover title for next month.
At the moment, there's nothing to go on with regard to what the game might be. Batman: Arkham Origins was developed by Warner Bros. Montreal rather than Rocksteady and it's unclear if the studio will return to the series.
Batman: Arkham Knight, the next chapter in the Rocksteady Studios franchise, has finally been revealed and it will be releasing for PS4, Xbox One and PC. It has a release date of “TBC 2014″ and promises to be the “explosive finale†to the series.
The GAME listing also promises that Batman will face “the ultimate threat against the city he is sworn to protect. The Scarecrow returns to unite an impressive roster of super villains, including Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn, to destroy The Dark Knight forever.â€
We’ll also get to drive the Batmobile for the first time, which will navigate both roads and skylines. Perhaps similar to the Batmobile that Dick Grayson and Damien Wayne used when teaming up? We certainly hope so.
Official Batman: Arkham Knight Announce Trailer - "Father to Son"
Now get drool.. hahaha parang Christopher Nolan inspired trailer
seriously, i think this is the reason why Origins was left in the hands of WB Montreal. Rocksteady is doing this epic conclusion to their Arkham series. Darn CGI, they can really make movie out of this!
too bad it's for PS4... I'm wishin' it'll have a PS3 version
I think this is going to mean an even bigger open world and vehicles. That trailer looked tasty. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
For those asking why this can't be on PS3 and Xbox 360, they say this couldn't have been done on the last gen systems. Too much memory limitations. The Batmobile alone would've eaten most of the ram of the ps3 and the 360. So they really needed next gen systems to be able to push what they could do in the game.

- Last Batman game for Rocksteady, will work on something totally new next.
- There will be a brand new villain, something made by Rocksteady that they say will be the ultimate test for Batman
- Batmobile can be called at any moment with a button.
- The city streets are much wider to allow for the batmobile. You will rocket jump off ramps and do all sorts of cool maneuvers.
- You can eject jump out of the batmobile right into a super fast glide straight through the glass of a building to knock out enemies. They said glass breaking will be a big new thing.
- New moves include being able to use all your gadgets during flight. You now have a counter throw where you counter a guy and throw him into another guy. A new quick ground takedown. A quick backflip where you then throw a batarang in an enemies face.
- For the predator sections you can now chain takedowns of up to four enemies. For instance pop out of a grate and take one guy, jump to the next and so on. You can now enter grates from a distance, he will automatically do a jump or roll to enter them.
- Riddler challenges seem to be car based. The first one has you enter a sort of Riddler race track where you have to activate walls and ramps, when you activate one another closes so as you drive you have to be constantly turning on and off these ramps as you navigate the course.
- Batmobile fires missles and stun guns. It destroys anything it touches so if you bump into cars the cars go flying. It's basically unstoppable.
- Story is that after Joker's death all the criminals decided to work together and their plan comes together this night where they plan to kill batman. The article talks mostly about Scarecrow, he scattered bombs throughout Gotham.
Oracle will play a larger role, you get to visit her base and talk to her, tons of batman easter eggs included.
- Kevin Conroy is Batman, all the previous voice actors are back.
- Gotham City is 5 times bigger than AC. Split into 3 areas. NO LOAD TIMES at all, entering buildings is seemless.
They spend a bunch of time talking about how detailed the models are, one character has more polygons than the environment of Asylum.
- Batman will start off with the old batsuit and upgrade at some point in the game.
- It says it is running on their modified Unreal engine.
Batman: Arkham Knight Won't Have Multiplayer, Will Have Kevin Conroy
Sounds like the newest Batman game, Arkham Knight, won't just ship without a last-gen version; it also won't include multiplayer. However, it will feature longtime Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy, reprising his role as Batman.
The latest Game Informer has got all sorts of tidbits of information about the game, which will feature the Scarecrow as a primary antagonist and a drivable Batmobile, bringing with it a Gotham big enough to handle a drivable Batmobile. And unlike last year's Batman: Arkham Origins, Arkham Knight will return to the series' singleplayer-only roots.
Speaking with Game Informer, Arkham Knight game director Sefton Hill said that they had always planned the game as singleplayer only, and have been so focused on single-player that they wouldn't have had time to do anything else. "We want to focus on making the best single-player experience we can," Hill told Game Informer. "We don't feel that it needs a multiplayer element."
I'm all for it - I didn't feel like Rocksteady needed to add multiplayer to either Arkham City or Asylum, so here's hoping the new game is as complete-feeling as the first two were.
A few other cool bits from the Game Informer preview:
The game's combat programmer Tim Hanagan says that thanks to the power of the new consoles, there are between three and four times the number of thugs active in Gotham as there were in Arkham City. Some larger riots feature up to 50 characters on screen. That's a lot of dudes.
After sitting out last year's Arkham Origins, Kevin Conroy will indeed be returning to play the role of the Dark Knight, as he accidentally hinted at last year. Nolan North, Wally Wigbert, Tara Strong and Troy Baker will also return to reprise their roles as Penguin, Riddler, Harley Quinn and Two-Face. Nice!
According to GI, the game uses a "juiced-up version of Rocksteady's custom modified Unreal engine," which could mean a number of things but seems like it'll still use Unreal engine 3, not Unreal 4.
"Arkham Knight" is apparently the name of a new archrival in the game. It's an entirely new character being created from scratch by DC's Geoff Johns. Interesting.
There's a bunch more in Game Informer, along with a lengthy written preview of a big chunk of the game. You can find the issue in stores or get it digitally through their site.
