Crazycajun wrote:I think the reason why these remasters are getting a lot of flak is the fact that it's coming out way too early in this generations lifecycle. I mean, it seems just like yesterday when I was playing Uncharted 1. Masyado pang fresh sa memory. Wala pang nostalgia. Kaya ang perception, pineperahan tayong mga gamers.

If they release these remasters a little later, andun yung nostalgia. Yung feeling na "Uy! Antagal ko nang hindi nalaro ito ah! Nice!" Mas maa-accept natin and would probably be more willing to part with our hard earned cash
I never really understood this argument. No one is forcing anybody to buy remasters. If price is an issue and feeling ng mga consumers pineperahan sila, then either wait for a second hand copy, or wait for the price to go down or don't buy it.

PS not saying that you necessarily feel this way since I saw that you were excited about this release. Personally, I'd buy more remasters of franchises that I loved from the past generation as long as they're not horribly done (sleeping dogs), and if the price is right.

Both valid points imho. I dont mind having remasters, however i really wish current gen would focus more on current gen titles. I mean, we are at the 1.5 year mark already since the release of the xbone and ps4. While future titles are promising, 2015 so far has been a yawn as far as fresh titles are concerned.

Of course, it could also be that im getting a bit impatient. :) sana december na. Hehehe!

But these titles are being done by third party studios (Bluepoint and Nixxes are examples of good porting studios), or smaller teams from within each studio (The last of Us Remastered was done by a team of 20 or so people).Resident Evil HD remake was done by a small team, DmC Remastered was done while Ninja Theory was also working on Hellblade, the Master Chief Collection was outsourced to other studios.

So the argument that you'd rather the studios work on new games is not really true also, because studios responsible for those franchises are also putting the majority of their resources on their new properties. Tomb Raider will have a new game this year, ND is working on Uncharted 4, Halo 5 will come out this year, SSM is working on the next God of War title, Ninja Theory is working on Hellblade.

The lull in big title output is nothing new, and has nothing to do with the amount of remasters being pushed out. The summer season, and months before that are usually barren with big games, as big games are mostly being released during september up to the holiday period.

I mean, we just came off the first half of the year where The Witcher 3, Bloodborne, Dying Light, Helldivers, Resident Evil Revelations 2, Evolve and Project Cars came out (then there are titles like The Order:1886, and Battlefield Hardline which were not too well received). You may or may not like some of those titles but there's hardly an absence of games as a result of remasters. It's a false equivalence that most gamers put out there.

As mentioned, i think it was just me getting a bit impatient.

To be fair, i did enjoy HellDivers, The Order 1886 (as short as it was) and Project Cars; apart from the other launch titles.
UC4, MGS5, Hellblade, the next Tomb Raider Halo 5, and the next God (and Gears) of War among a plethora of future releases really are worth waiting for.

I'm glad that my post has sparked a discussion. This has always been my intention so I've never posted short responses.

But unfortunately, those that has responded are what I might call "veterans" of gaming, so the discussion went to a direction I have not analyzed, considered nor was even aware of. It is all a learning process for someone you can safely call a noob to all these new advances in gaming since PS2.

I have played FFX and bought the remaster, it was indeed nostalgic playing it again after so many years, along with it the same frustration that I still can't beat that Chocobo race. I played Tomb Raider on Steam this January and enjoyed it immensely that when I bought my PS4 last March, there was no question that I must buy Tomb Raider. I did, I played it and you know what; even if it was just two months apart, It was still fun to go through all of it again. I wouldn't be able to play The Last of Us if it wasn't remastered as well. It's very rare for a game to make me stop playing so I can check the beautiful surrounding.

All these supposedly awesome games that came out of PS3, I only have the word of mouth to believe that they are indeed awesome, this is to my regret. I love a good story, one that grips you that you forget everything around you; stories that you think of later in life and say "that was alot of time playing video games, it was AWESOME!!".

I've heard positive things about Uncharted. For me, it looks like the male version of Lara. In certain angles, this Drake dude even looks like your average Pinoy. Before this Collection was released, I was thinking how regrettably I will not be buying A Thief's End (just because Naughty Dog made it) because I have no idea what happened in the previous parts. I hate it when something is happening (or mentioned) and I don't have any clue who or what it is about.

You can bet I'll be buying this. Now, if only the would do the same to the Witcher, Arkham, and Mass effect, and Dragon Age; that would be great.

Good news naman about uncharted is that then installments rarely have references to the previous ones. Komti lang din naman ang recurring key characters.

it would be a waste of time to make the MP work for the Collection since UC4 is coming

^ Not necessarily. It's Bluepoint making the collection and not Naughty Dog.

nah it would just split the userbase, UC2 PS4, UC3 PS4, UC2 PS3, UC3 PS3, UC4 PS4 servers

^ That's what Eric Monacelli said 6 days ago and it's a valid point. I was just trying to understand the people clamoring for MP. I personally don't mind, just excited for Drake's Fortune, as it is the game with the most to gain from this.

It's 60 fps, select 720p60fps option, or the 1080p60fps option sa quality ng youtube.

by kobemvp24
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection will receive a Special Edition when it hits stores this October for PlayStation 4

Image

The Special Edition includes a copy of the three-game bundle, plus a range of physical goodies such as a Steelbook, stickers and a 48-page Uncharted artbook.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection features Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception remastered in 1080p/60fps for Sony's current-generation console. It won't, however, include the multiplayer portions of Uncharted 2 or 3.

The game will remove the forced motion controls seen in the original game, and will receive a playable demo this summer.
