Fear the Walking Dead is an upcoming television series scheduled to air on AMC in summer 2015. It is a companion to the American apocalyptic horror drama television series The Walking Dead, which is based on the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard. AMC greenlit the pilot to series on March 9, 2015, with a two-season commitment.

Development:
In September 2013, AMC announced they were developing a companion series to The Walking Dead, which follows a different set of characters created by Robert Kirkman. In September 2014, AMC ordered a pilot, which was written by Kirkman and Dave Erickson, and directed by Adam Davidson. It is executive produced by Kirkman, Erickson, Gale Anne Hurd, and David Alpert, with Erickson to serve as showrunner. In December 2014, it was confirmed that the spinoff would take place during the same zombie apocalypse depicted on The Walking Dead, but in a different location, later confirmed to be set in Los Angeles. The project was originally known as Cobalt, and Kirkman confirmed in March 2015 that the series would be titled Fear the Walking Dead. On March 9, 2015, AMC announced it had ordered it to series, with a two-season commitment. The first season, consisting of six episodes, will premiere in late summer 2015, and the second season will air in 2016.

Casting:
The series revolves around a male divorced teacher, a female guidance counselor, and her two children, a son and a daughter. Cliff Curtis plays Sean Cabrera, the male lead role, and Kim Dickens plays Nancy Tomkins, the female lead role. Frank Dillane plays Nancy's son Nick, who is battling a drug problem even after the outbreak, and Alycia Debnam-Carey plays Nancy's daughter Ashley.

Filming:
Production of the pilot episode began in early 2015 and ended on February 6, 2015. The pilot episode was filmed in Los Angeles, however, the remaining first season episodes will be filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

The zombies are getting closer.

Days after treating Comic-Con fans to a new trailer, AMC has released the poster for “Fear the Walking Dead.” The show’s August premiere date is fast approaching and, as the artwork suggests, it won’t be long until a game of hoops outside is considered too risky.

“Fear the Walking Dead” is a prequel to the cabler’s widely successful “The Walking Dead.” It’s set in Los Angeles before the outbreak that would turn humans into either flesh-eating savages or their dinners. It stars Cliff Curtis, Kim Dickens, Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey.

Robert Kirkman, who created “The Walking Dead” comics that serve as the basis for the first series, co-created “Fear the Walking Dead” and and co-wrote the pilot with exec producer Dave Erickson, who serves as showrunner. “Dead’s” Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and David Alpert are also exec producing. Erickson told Comic-Con attendees that there were no plans to for the two stories to overlap.

In March, AMC gave a two-season order to “Fear the Walking Dead.” The six-episode first season will debut at 9 p.m. on Aug. 23 and season two will premiere in 2016. “The Walking Dead” will return on Oct. 11.

I watched the first episode last night. Okay lang iyong show medyo mabagal pa ang story, hindi pa masyado nakakatakot iyong mga zombies kasi hindi pa sila nag-dedecay.

Sa episode two or three ang predict ko na magiging magulo iyong city. Hanggang 6 episodes lang eto kaya kailangan nila bilisan iyong pacing ng story.

The pilot looks promising. I think I would be watching this more than the actual TWD. Para may mas direction ang storyline neto kesa sa TWD na survival na lang talaga ang focus.

...nagustuhan ko rin sya, although di kasing ganda ng pilot ng TWD. Pero kasi dito malakas pa kaba factor dahil talagang ignorante pa mga tao sa mga nangyayari.

episode 2's out and judging from the pacing of the story, sana ginawa na lang syang movie. Ok ang takbo ng kwento, the suspense is present on every turn. Just like how the TWD began before.

Ayos iyong 2nd episode. Daming suspense na scene. Dami din stupid na decision, ganon talaga pag suspense/thriller show. Bakit hindi pa e-warn ng step dad, mother and older brother iyong kapatid nilang babae? Bakit pa kailangan itago ang katotohanan? The world is in chaos right now. Iyong oldest son kung hindi pa inutusan iyong mother niya na warningan iyong kapitbahay hindi pa niya gagawin. Iyong step dad nasa loob na sila ng shop hindi pa niya ipaliwanag kung anong nangyayari sa anak niya at owner ng house na tinutuluyan nila. Pag emergency habang tumatakbo puwede naman mag explain. Sabihin mo may kumakalat na virus at bumabangon ang patay kaya kailangan natin makahanap ng shelter or safe area kaagad ... simple.

Iyong mother naman at iyong student ... hindi man lang inuwi iyong food na kinuha nila sa school. tsk tsk tsk. Kahit isang lata ng food walang inuwi.

haha talagang ini-spoil oh! hindi pa muna nila masabi yung nakita nila kasi nasa state of shock pa sila dahil unang na-witness nila na tinamaan is yung mga kakilala pa nila. Wala din sila idea ano official cause nung scenario.

Kahit nasa state of shock ka pa kailangan mo mag explain sa kapwa mo kahit konting information kaysa nangangapa iyong mahal mo sa buhay at walang alam paano nila ma proprotetahan sarili nila. Tsaka iyong mother maraming alam iyan, denial lang ... na warningan na siya ng boy student ng ilang beses hindi niya pinapaniwalaan kasi tingin niya guni guni lang. Tsaka ilang oras na ang lumipas na state of shock parin sila?

Kung pinoy ang character diyan alam ko na sasabihin niya "TAKBO!!!!!!" hahaha or kaya "BASTA TUMAKBO KA NA LANG NANGANGANIB BUHAY NATIN!!!"

Well, this show succeeded in making me dislike most of the characters in the show more than TWD. It only took them two episodes.

Everyone should die except the fat kid who knows what's up.
