Hajime Tabata shares some updates about Final Fantasy Agito XIII

When Hajime Tabata posts on Twitter, it's usually a small update about The 3rd Birthday. Now, the game director Tweets that they're done with Aya Brea's next game and that he's moved on to focus on Final Fantasy Agito XIII. He also gave out small updates about the PSP part of Fabula Nova Crystallis, and seeing as we've barely been getting any info on that end, it's much welcome info.

Final Fantasy Agito XIII, according to Tabata, is a fantasy world conflict between four sides. See the variety of weapons on the image to the right? The game director explained that battles in the game will be a clash between weapons such as those and some magic, and the ordinary versus the extraordinary. Just the kind of action you'd expect from an FF game.

Tabata did mention that Square Enix have more info to share about Agito by next year. In the meantime, he points fans to The 3rd Birthday. The two games are different, but he says that it's a good way to see what he and his development team are capable of.

Final Fantasy Type-0 will be Agito's new name

Square Enix has quite a number of titles in the works as it is, so it was a little hard to say what the trademark filing called "Final Fantasy Type-0" was for. As it turns out, Square Enix isn't working on a new, unannounced game. The trademark was simply to become the name of a long-announced PSP title.

Final Fantasy Type-0 Trailer:

From now on, Final Fantasy Agito XIII will be known as Final Fantasy Type-0. It may have shed the XIII name, but it will still be part of Fabula Nova Crystallis. On top of that it'll also be starting a series of its own, which is probably why Square Enix also trademarked Type-1, Type-2, and Type-3.

Final Fantasy Type-0 will come in two UMDs. It's a pretty big game with over 30 voiced characters, each played by 'big name' voice actors. Square Enix hasn't dropped any names, though. According to director Hajime Tabata, the game will be tweaked into a single player game with multiplayer features to create a different gameplay style.

The game comes out this summer.

^ hahaha. Yun nga lang, kakabasa ko lang due to numerous "dialogs" daw kaya naging 2 yung disc. Sana naman mahaba din ang gameplay. Mga 100+ hours siguro hahaha joke.

'Part' pa rin daw ito ng Fabula Nova Crystalis pero they want this to be a start of a new FF series hehe

Ayaw na lang siguro nila mapahiya pero malinaw naman ng wala ng kaugnayan. Gaya ng Versus XIII, paano mauugnay yun sa FNC eh Japan ang setting while FFXIII purely the fantasy world ng Pulse/Cocoon. PArang magiging sub-sub-series na FF 'to. FF > FNC sub-series > na may sub-series naman na Type-_.
