Finally some new information on Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 15, though it’s mostly restricted to the technology the game utilizes. A quick look at the showcase titles for YEBIS 2, a post processing effects middleware which allows developers to add such effects as HDR rendering, reveals that FF15 utilizes the same.
The listing states that, “Beautiful natural light is represented as real-time computer generated effects by utilizing the optical effects of YEBIS 2.â€
This was for the E3 2013 demo, which is labelled as a “tech demoâ€, so you can count on it being a part of the final game. This could also mean that we’ll see much more in the final release.
Under the listing for Agni’s Philosophy, which also uses YEBIS 2, it says, “Optical post effects such as motion blur and depth of field are applied to create photo-realistic graphics like live-action.†It’s highly likely that Final Fantasy 15 will also utilize bokeh depth of field, light blooms and glare in HDR. We’ll have to wait and see.
Tomorrow Sony Japan will held it’s pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference, and something just moved that could indicate an appearance of Square Enix’s late blooming JRPG.
The publisher just shifted the official website from its original domain http://www.na.square-enix.com/FFXV to http://www.finalfantasyxv.com/. The new domain has been owned by Square Enix for a long while, but has never been used until now.
This may or may not mean an appearance of the game at the press conference, or at least at Tokyo Game Show, but of course it can’t be considered a confirmation until we’ll see it with our own eyes.
Is it really happening? We’ll probably know by tomorrow.
Source: http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/arch ... uscae.aspxIt's been a looooooooong time coming, but - according to a report on Game Informer - next year you'll be able to get your hands on at least some of Final Fantasy XV, with Square Enix to release a playable demo of the title sometime next year.
Game Informer says this demo will show you some of the early part of the game, albeit with "some elements of the progression...altered in order to make it more suitable for a demo experience."
Square Enix is calling the demo Episode Duscae, and though it focuses on the early parts of the game, some elements of the progression have been altered in order to make it more suitable for a demo experience.
Some players will be able to get Episode Duscae for free thanks to a voucher included with Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, which releases on March 17 in North America. A representative from Square Enix could not confirm that the demo will be available the exact same day as Type-0 HD, but it will be coming to both PS4 and Xbox One when it does release.
They're also saying that people buying Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, which is out on March 17 in North America, will get a voucher to download the Final Fantasy XV demo.
