Speak Easy was a sub-forum for threads that are:
> chain threads - these are threads like 4 word story, ask the next user, enumeration (ex. gimme 5 favorite games) etc.
> fun threads - like quiz , puzzles, translate this etc.
> debates - character vs. , which is better
> chat thread - like after dark, usopong "o", tagalog lang po etc.
> general - random thoughts, favorite quotes, etc.

it was removed because:
> Choy think it is waste of bandwidth and space
> We had a slowdown from previous host thus this was the first to be removed.
> Some users/members use the threads as outlets for spamming.

IMHO we should bring this back because:
> members will have more fun
> threads that should not be in other forums can be placed here
> those who are not spammers yet need an outlet for fun topics
> we have less than 5% bandwidth utilization

Less than 5%??! Never ko naisip na ganung kababa usage natin considering madalas dati tayo nag-eexceed.

Anyway, if that's the case, I think we can re-open it, but make it a sub-forum under Off-Topic, at dapat stricter ang rules.

I'm all for the return ng Speak Easy, pero yeah dapat stricter rule implementation.

nag-suggest sa akin ng ganung subforum si javelin dati. sinabi ko meron tayong speak easy subforum dati at bago ibalik yun, ikokonsulta ko muna sa ibang admins at mods. so ito nga, napag-usapan uli.

yes, imba ang host natin ngayon kaya parang si taguro lang ang lakas.

pwede nating i-assign yung ibang junior mods doon.

kung kaya na ng host natin why not?

at kung pwede ibalik yung dating pinoyps na kahit hindi pa member naa-access nila yung ibang part ng forums. sa tingin ko mas madaming mae-engganyo magpa member kapag nakakapag basa sila kahit limited access lang.

Agree sa mga guests being able to view up to a certain degree. Pero limit lang natin kung saan din sila mag post like for example yung sa Buy and Sell para naman hindi maging tambakan ng random items yung section.

sige ibabalik natin yung guest access.

mas prefer ko pa rin na ang pwede lang mag-post, yung members din. lalo sa buy and sell, mahirap pag guest lang ang kausap.

HWAG mag-allow ng non-members na mag-post sa Buy&Sell. Marami sa mga ganun gusto lang maibenta ang item, pero wala talaga balak maging part ng community.

Yan din iniiwasan ko...plus maeexpose yung mga bago nating members sa mga scammers. Marami kasi sa atin na wala pa masyado experience pagdating sa online transactions. Add to that na hindi secure sa atin dahil most of the time, local online transactions are not covered by paypal or other services that cover both the buyer and seller in case there is a problem with the transaction.

Guest access only sa mga discussion thread except Off-topic and selling section ang vote ko.

basta no guest posting. mag-register dapat sila.

Isa pang ayaw ko sa possible guest access is yung magreregister as member para lang magpasagot ng "survey". Case in point is this particular thread...

I'm all about helping each other out lalo na sa pps community natin, pero yung mga ganitong thread parang ayaw ko naman itolerate. Obviously, hindi naman kasi siya active after niya ipost ito, and ni wala nga follow up eh. If it was up to me, I'd rather delete this kinds of threads lalo na kung hindi active yung nag post to discourage other "guests" who just make dummy accounts to be able to post these kinds of things.
