Dissidia Final Fantasy Sequel Announced
FFXIII's Lightning joins the fight. PSP followup to be playable at TGS next week!

Square Enix is bringing back its ultimate crossover fighter for another round on PSP. This week's Weekly Shounen Jump confirms a Dissidia Final Fantasy sequel, which uses some expected unconventional Tetsuya Nomura naming: Dissidia Duodecim: Final Fantasy.

The magazine shows playable Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII and Kain from Final Fantasy IV. We couldn't see any further details beyond this.

The wait for more info shouldn't be long. In a Tweet earlier today, series director Tetsuya Nomura confirmed that one of his secret unannounced games would be playable at next week's Tokyo Game Show. It's likely that Dissidia is that very game.

Dissidia Duodecim is scheduled for Japanese PSP release in 2011.

Ah. Bagong info sa akin yung about kay Kain pero yung news about kay Lightning, parang almost 1 year ago pa yata.. Dissidia: Final Fantasy International Version (iirc) pa yata title dapat nun.

Actually dapat part sila ng first Dissidia, Sa case ni Kain parang pinalitan siya ni Golbez or siya dapat ang Hero. Kay Lightning naman dapat ilalagay siya pero hindi pa kasi release ang FF13 parang ayaw i-premept ni Nomura si Lightning kaya hindi muna siya tinuloy.

sana yung sa FFXI si Ardo na lang, (well okay sin naman si Shantoto) tapos sa FFXII si Ashe na lang para may dagdag na female character

Dissidia: Final Fantasy Gets Sequel
More characters, and...what else?

Square Enix had two devastating pieces of news for Japanese gamers today. One, Final Fantasy XIII is coming out on the Xbox 360 in Japan on December 16. (That means nothing to us, of course, since we've had the 360 version since launch day. It's a big deal to console warriors in Japan, though, because Square Enix president Yoichi Wada swore up and down on both Japanese game media and his own Twitter account that the 360 port would never, ever come out in that nation. Game biz executives breaking promises? Well, I never!)

More interesting to us overseas gamers, though, is this: In this week's spate of Japan game mags, Square Enix announced a sequel to Dissidia: Final Fantasy, the PSP fighter/action game that pits characters from across the FF series against each other. Titled Dissidia: Duodecim Final Fantasy 012, the title is coming exclusively to the PSP, once again, with a 2011 Japan release in the works.

Not much about what's new gameplay-wise has been revealed with Duodecim yet, but Square Enix is promising a raft of new characters to appear in the sequel. Two have been revealed so far: Lightning from FFXIII (expected, of couse), and Kain Highwind, who debuted in Final Fantasy IV and was last seen acting like a nutter in The After Years.

Details beyond that are a mystery still, but the game will be playable at the Tokyo Game Show next week, so stay tuned.

hopefully dagdagan nila ang characters per FF game, like adding Tifa from FF7 and Zell from FF8. kaso parang di magiging balance, dapat yung sa evil side eh dagdagan din.
