GZ: The PS3 version includes Steamworks functionality which, on the face of it, gives it the edge over the version 360.
JB: Uh huh, I think so.
GZ: And it also provides PS3 players with a copy of the PC version for free. How does that process work? Is there a Steam key included in the box to download the PC version, or is a copy gifted to you once you link your Steam account in the PS3 game?
JB: We're going to send out some more details on that, but when you buy the PS3 version there'll be a key code in the box , and when you first bring up Steamworks in the PS3 game, that allows you to link your Steam account with your PSN account. That's where you punch in the code, and once you've used that code it's spent. With that link, you automatically own the game for PC and you can download it on any PC or Mac that you have. If you don't have a Steam account you can instantly create one through a quick sign up, and then you can activate that later as a full Steam account on your PC.
GZ: Do you need the code to access co-op in the PS3 version, or can you simply play through PSN without touching Steam?
JB: You have to create a Steam account, which again can be via that quick create where all you're doing is clicking a button saying 'hey, I wanna play'. You don't need to input the code. You don't even need to have a full Steam account.
GZ: So someone buying a second hand copy of the PS3 version would still have access to the co-op even if the code has already been redeemed?
JB: Yes, they would.
GZ: Does that leave the system open to abuse? Let's say I want to pick up the PC version. Are there any measures stopping me from buying the PS3 version, linking the code to my Steam account, immediately selling back the PS3 game to a store and effectively getting a PC copy for next to nothing?
JB: No, I don't think there's anything that would prevent that. We're willing to take the risk that someone might jump through all those hoops to create what we think is a really compelling feature that people are going to like.
thanks so much sir for the detailed information...
so if i understand your post right, here are my thoughts:
1. the PS3 version can co-op with PC using the code thru steam
2. the code is shareable for one steam account only (where the codes are used/registered)
3. you have to download the PC game version once you've registered in steam account (if new) and used the code
4. the PC version/copy can be used in multiple computers for as long as it is downloaded from the steam account registered with codes used
5. once you plat this game and decided to sell it, you can still play with your PS3 friends thru your PC via registered steam account
tama ba?

maraming salamat i'm totally convinced na! can't wait baka this weekend makabili na ko basta dapat up na ang PSN!
hmmm been thinking about this, found out the game can only be active on one system at a time when playing online, meaning you can't play co-op on the PS3 and on the PC at the same time
i think the only way to play with your PC at home for example is to use the code on another PS3/Steam id, not on your main PS3 account
Finished with the co-op splitscreen, half of which i did by myself. FOREVER ALONE...
Challenging kapag mag-isa ka lang pero doable. I don't know which is more difficult though, playing co-op with someone else or doing it by your lonesome. Mahirap din kasi i-communicate kung papaano ang gagawin. Nung may kasama na nga ako, nagkakagulo na, magkatabi lang kami. Lalu na siguro kung online.
Trophy clean-up na lang and then the online trophies. Then the FREE DLC. Sana meron na pagbalik ng PSN.

oh nooo!!! buti sir naisip mo ito... please paki-confirm nga ito kung dapat ba sa ibang account i-activate yung code... if that's the case ok lang naman i'll be using my singapore account since, R3 lang talaga bilbilhin ko so malamang hindi rin gagana yung code sa US account... i'd really like to play this game with my sister or my friend kasi yun lang habol ko dito at syempre yung challenges...
sa mga meron na please pa-post naman yung idea niyo sa procedure ng linking ng PS3 user at PC user pwede ba talagang sabay, need bang separate account? i really need these infos ASAP... TIA...
