Evolution Studios has revealed a new track for MotorStorm: Apocalypse, and it looks pretty nuts, with ramps, massive jumps, vertiginous skyscrapers and of course, plenty of destruction.
Matt Southern, Evolution's Game Director introduced the new track over on the PlayStation Blog, writing: "Let me introduce a track that has presented us with some of the biggest gameplay challenges we’ve ever had: Skyline, AKA ‘the Blockhopper’ AKA ‘Vertigo Redux’, AKA ‘the one with a race where you get dropped from a helicopter onto a skyscraper that is already collapsing, and are expected to win against a pack of bikes and ATVs on rooftops and in offices that are falling to pieces’."
It sounds pretty good to us, and any racetrack that begins by being dropped from a helicopter is a win in our book. Check out seven new screens of MotorStorm: Apocalypse's new track in the gallery. If this is how the world ends, sign us up now, please.

MotorStorm Apocalypse Delayed Out Of Respect For Victims of Japan Earthquake
Sony has decided to delay the release of MotorStorm Apocalypse in New Zealand and Japan out of respect for those affected by the recent earthquakes in both regions. The delay has also been extended to the UK.
Japan has been affected most recently by a devastating earthquake that caused a huge tsunami, leaving 10,000 missing and presumed dead.
"We are shocked and saddened to see the impact of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan and our thoughts are with all those affected, including our colleagues within the Sony family, living and working throughout Japan," a statement from Sony released to Eurogamer reads.
"We are very conscious of the parallels between these events and the underlying theme in MotorStorm and are doing everything we can to be as sensitive as possible to the situation," the statment continues. "Although the game itself is already in distribution, we are ceasing any further shipments and removing as much of the marketing materials as possible."
MotorStorm Apocalypse will eventually see release in the UK and elsewhere, but given the severity and tragic nature of current events, you can hardly blame Sony for delaying the game.

It's too early to judge but these are what I found in the demo. Note that I only make comparisons to Pacific Rift as I've never played the first one.

The good:
-Visuals. Holy crap, it's glorious!
-Handling. What in the world are you guys saying that it's slippery? It's grippy as hell in regards to the MotorStorm series.
-Sense of speed. There's lots of it.
-Sound. The roars of the engines and the crumbling buildings are amazing.
-Music. Orchestral drum 'n bass? Who would've thought that it'd work that well.
-Camera. Really well done and very cinematic.
-Environment. The people throwing stuff at you add a bit more sense of danger, especially when riding a bike.
-"Takedown" mechanic. FINALLY! You can actually kill racers who are on your way.
-Damage. Doesn't rival Burnout Paradise, but close enough.
-Ramming. Does a lot more impact now.
The sketchy:
-Boost system. Fills up way too fast and overheating limit is incredibly short. Then again, it might depend on vehicle class just like before.
-Hood view. I would've preferred it if it went solidly with the vehicle.

-No more weight transfer in mid-air.
-Dirt on cars. Where has it gone?
