Yeah, i've been promoted 3 times. But IMHO, there is more to life than being chained to a desk all day....

Is it really about the salary?

Dealing with foreigners took its toll on me, and i eventually felt oppressed...

I believe the only way i will be successful is when i meet my own expectations, not someone else's...

So to you Call Center Industry, so long, thanks and good riddance...

I fvcking envy you man. If not only for the obligations that I have right now to my family and the promise I vowed to my hard working but ever complaining agents, I would have left last year.

i guess we all have our obligations..

and to think, i have a 3 year old kid who's in school now.

But why have i done this? It's more of a personal thing. Is this the only job for me? Can i still see myself in this industry for the next 5-6 years?

my career in this industry officially ended 2 hours ago.

Will i miss the work? NO

The only thing i will miss will be the people around me during my tenure with them...

But that's life, we all have to learn to move on.

I guess i can consider myself fortunate that the career path i chose in this industry doesnt dwell such a heavy stress environment. Growth may not be as fast as it is in ops but id never leave training for anything. At least i dont have a reason to at the moment. Hehe!

10 years by 2014. Hope i make to there amd beyond. :)

So you're in training? Ops is definitely hard. It's really hard.

The first promotion i had with Teletech was a trainer position. It opened my mind that teaching is really my calling, but yes, its hard. but it also has its perks..I've been sent to different places.

Either and more.
Project specific training, comms training, leadership and management training, training certification, instructional design. Project management, etc...
What i love about what this company gave me is so much diversity in my role.
