Try to avoid Region 2 (Europe) as much as possible if you're concerned with DLCs coming from other region.

DLC (map pack) for Call of Duty 4 is unfortunately region-locked.

Don't they have the free DLC pack for hawx? If so you could try it out first with that and see if that works.

***IMPORTANT UPDATE***
It seems I was provided incorrect information regarding the KZ DLC. My friend has a R1 disc and not R3. So as of now. KZ2 is still unconfirmed being region free.

Sorry for the mix up.

Ala libre ang HAWX na DLC bro...they do have free jets but you just use a cheat code to get them...

Its bound to come out for all regions... kaya lang you have to download the DLC from UK PSN kasi region locked malamang ang DLC specially if your using an R2 disc/game.

Sana lahat na lang ng games region free ang DLC..parepareho lang naman ang prices if iconvert mo eh...

Mga boss, a newbie here. Im goin to get a PS3 narin mid JULY after some serious considerations for that other console hehe. Kaso nga sirain.

Anyway medyo nalilito ako re R1 AND R3. So far it has to do with the servers tama ba? Saan naman pumasok dito ang DLC's? I only want to play Fight Night Round 4 and UFC Undisputed online against those in the US and UK. Mas mura R3 kaso what about its DLC's? Thanks.

^^ Yung mga DLCs lang ang region-locked pero meron namang hindi. That's why we have this thread to find out kung anong games ang may region-free DLC. That way, it won't matter kahit R3 or R1 ang game natin. So far, DLCs of R2 games are region specific.

Sana time will come that all DLCs will be region-free... :sigh:

I tried using R1 KZ2 DLC on my R2 copy sadly it doesn't work. It looks like KZ2 DLCs are definitely region locked.

^ Wala pa available dlc's para sa fight night and ufc although may announced na. Pag na test na yan, sigurado update naman tayo ng thread.
If you're planning to buy a ps3, any region will do. Region free naman ang gaming sa ps3. Online-wise, it's not like kung r3(asian) ang game mo, hindi mo makakalaro yung mga naka us copy or nasa us. Though I'm not sure kung lahat ng games ganyan. Pero ako dati Resistance 2 ko R3, kalaro ko mga amerikano. NBA 2k9 ko R1, nakakalaro ko pinsan ko sa dubai, R2 sila doon, yun nga lang lakas ng delay pero I think the delay is caused by our ISP and hindi kasi dedicated ang servers ng multiplatform games.

On topic:
Ask ko lang, ang metal gear online ba region free? I mean kahit R3 mgs4 ko, pag nag dl ako ng metal gear online using my US account gagana ba yun?

Hindi po talaga gagana sa R2 yung R1 dlc kasi talagang locked ang R2 dlcs. Pero sa R3 baka may chance, sana may makapag test. Akin kasi dati, SF4 ko R2, walang gumanang R1 dlc, pero sabi sa 1st page, Region Free, So that means R1 and R3 lang yung region free. My theory is that pareho kasing ntsc ang color system ng R1 and R3 so wala masyado issues sa dlc compatibility unlike R2 na kadalasan ay Euro(PAL). Theory ko lang yan ha. hehehe.
