Who's played the demo already.
Is this just a dumbed down kiddie version of the classic game?

Played it na...

Good:
Units, buildings, and tech generally the same as PC versions.
Smaller map, makes for quicker management of our civ and shorter games. "Civ Lite"
Time flies fast as well. I got to 1200AD in 30 minutes.

Bad:
Cartoon graphics
You advisors are annoying Sims! They talk gibberish.

Agree with Jomni na super annoying un mga gibberish ng mga advisors. sana pwde i-off sa retails version

Yup aliw yung demo. Nagustuhan ko yung nagkakaroon ng special abilities yung units mo when they reach a certain level. Ok din yung pwede icombine 3 units of the same type to form an army. I tried playing the multiplayer pero walang mahanap na kalaban e :?

i liked the multiplayer. :-) pero yun nga, cartoonish graphics at malabong advisors. :fury:

but its enough to get me to buy it once its released. parang rts na pang ps3. :-) though more of turn based nga siya. hehe la na rin akong powerful-enough pc ehh so baka pede ito. bitin ako sa demo. nakapag 2 wonders na ako pati mga technology dami na rin.

mataas ang score nya sa IGN

9.0 Presentation
Polished, streamlined and easy to use. Nearly everything about Civ Rev’s interface is inviting.
8.0 Graphics
Characters are sharp, units are easy to discern, fog-of-war is great. Sometimes slowdown does rear its ugly head though.
8.5 Sound
Subtle, but clear and altogether top-notch.
8.5 Gameplay
Easy to control and with just enough depth to snag you quickly. A touch more beneath the surface is all it’s really lacking.
9.0 Lasting Appeal
With 16 civilizations and two single-player modes, you’ll be an expert by the time you hook up with friends online. With a strong community behind it, Civ Rev on the Internets will be truly great.
8.8
Great OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)

Yeah i though this was going to be dumbed down. but it has all the depth of the original Civ games. They just made the passage of time quicker and the maps smaller.

^If you're a fan of the series then you should know that it's not about the graphics that made it great. :)

the same as all games, as long as your SDTV supports it (NTSC, PAL, multisystem).

heres my situation: my ps3 is a pal version and my NTSC TV is just a ordinary LG with white and yellow A/V...... may first game is oblivion which is R1...... it just okie......with color and sound but when a got my top spin 3 with R1 it just black and white..... now i found out "The one caveat of this new region-free structure is that games made for specific regions' electrical and TV standards may have problems on your TV set. A PAL PS3 game, for instance, will have difficulty running on an NTSC TV, unless the developers have thought ahead and planned for that issue. It is currently unknown how the PS3 will cope with this problem" then my cousin me advice to buy R3 game either buy new NTSC ps3 or upgrade to a HDTV.. would prepare to find a R3 game it s much cheaper.... im a right?? so please help where to find a R3 game???

best deals for games are in the buy/sell section of these forums.

its best to know what your SDTV can accommodate. mine accepts NTSC and PAL, therefore its a multisystem. my console is NTSC/J (but doesn't matter since PS3 games are region free). that means even PAL games can be supported by my SDTV.

it all boils down to your SDTV capability.

I would say you might want to save up for at least a Hannspree TV. It's not that expensive and it does the job well :)

It costs about like 4 new games

Sid meier's Civilization Revolution is pal... it won't work if your tv is not multi system.
