Lipat ko dito from the rumors thread...
by Andrew Goldfarb September 13, 2012
During its Wii U preview event in New York City today, Nintendo revealed the release date for Wii U. The system will be available on November 18th in North America in two configurations:
The Basic set will have 8GB of memory and includes the console, a GamePad, an HDMI cable, a Wii U sensor bar and an AC adapter. The basic set will be $299.99 in the United States.
The Deluxe set will have 32GB of internal memory and includes everything in the Basic configuration, plus a GamePad charging cradle, a stand for the GamePad and a stand for the console itself, plus a copy of Nintendo Land .The Deluxe set will also enroll purchasers in the Deluxe Digital Promotion, which offers points for every digital download you purchase. Those points can then be redeemed for future digital content from the eShop. The Deluxe set will be $349.99 in the United States.

maraming console = maraming game backlogSeraph011 wrote:Hmm..kaya lang aside from the Zombie game, parang wala pa ako nakita na medyo gusto ko. Hindi din kasi ako masyado fan ng Zelda games kaya other than ZombieU, possible Mario launch title lang ang iniisip ko dahilan bumili nito. But if it is indeed true that we might see a possible PS4 sometime between 2013-2014, baka hintayin ko na lang yun kasi ayaw ko din naman mag load ng masyado maraming console.

Wii U Pre-orders Selling Out Across U.S.
A number of retailers have already exhausted their allocations.
Nintendo recently unveiled the launch dates and prices for its new Wii U system, and many retailers' pre-order stock is now fast disappearing. At the time of publishing, GameStop has sold out of Deluxe units, but still has Basic left to pre-order, Best Buy is sold out of both, as is Sears, while Toys R Us has a 'check back soon to pre-order' message. Walmart is still taking pre-orders for both.
Overwhelming demand? Limited stock? Both?
In Australia, EB Games and JB Hi-Fi are still taking pre-orders for both models, as is Game in the U.K.
While we can't read too much into pre-orders selling out in North America, it's going to be fascinating to see how the system sells at launch, and also how much stock Nintendo will be able to get into stores for what is - effectively - a global launch. Back in August there were rumours about manufacturing issues for the GamePad, while Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime recently told IGN the company will not be selling the GamePad separately in North America in order to get as much console stock into stores as possible.

...is it me or parang lumiit ng konti yung wii U gamepad? parang mas naging komportable tingnan at hawakan. or baka dahil yung mga napanood kong mga TGS video mga kano kasi ang naglalaro?
...and mas malakas ata graphics power ng wiiU kesa sa ps3 at 360, kaso mas mababa ata ang ram?

Gamers beware: Nintendo Wii U will be region-locked
The company told famed Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu that gamers in different parts of the world won't be able to play games available in other regions.

Nintendo's Wii U is following in its predecessors' footsteps with region-locking.
A company representative reportedly told famed Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu recently that the Wii U won't allow gamers to play titles imported from other regions. The news was published today by posters on gaming forums NeoGaf. Nintendo then appeared to confirm its Famitsu statement to CVG.
Region-locking is common in the gaming space. The restriction stops gamers from playing titles available in other regions on their respective devices. Nintendo's Wii, along with all of its predecessors dating back to the Nintendo Entertainment System, are region-locked. Microsoft and Sony allow publishers to decide whether their titles should be region-locked or not.
Region-locking is one of the more annoying limitations placed on gamers. And many gamers, including this reporter, would like to see it abolished from the industry. Too bad that doesn't appear to be happening anytime soon.
Nintendo is launching its Wii U on November 18 in the U.S. The console will come in two flavors -- a basic set for $299 and a deluxe set for $349.
