sa mga nagwoworry about sa image retention ng plasma, ako I'm using my panasonic plasma for 4 years na on my ps3 gaming and movies araw araw, diko pa naman nag experience ang image retention,I'm not saying na hinde nangyayare yun sa plasma, that's a possibility pero mangyayare lang yun kapag siguro tipong iwan mo yung image na yun halos araw araw tapos maghapon.dipende din sa pag gamet at pagiingat.

my experience in plasma is so great, compare sa ibang tv technology like lcd or led,for my eyes mas malinaw talaga both gaming and movies, mas less ang snow and black is black and white is white lalo na kapag sa blu-ray movies, saka mas less yung kapag nasa ibang position ka ay lumalabo na.If I'm going to replace my tv for sure and definitely plasma pa din and only panasonic, but a bigger size lang ang papalitan ko,plasma and panasonic only lang ako.kung tutuusen malilinaw naman lahat kanya kanyang taste lang at satisfaction yan. (note:this is based on my eyes and experience)

I am more concerned about plasmas highly reflective screen and it's brightness.

It dipends on your preference, that is why plasmas nowadays didn't sell that much unlike LEDs today ( I think ), hinde talaga sya maganda sa showroom kase ang plasma nanghihinge ng dark room para mas makita mo yung full potentials nya, kaya mas unte ang plasma sa mga malalaking tindahan like Ansons.abensons,sm appliance etc etc, and isa pa andun yung palaging nasasabe ng tao na "lumang technology na daw" isa yun sa mga cons ng plasmas. kaya kung ilalagay sya sa kitchen or sala tapos maliwanag ang pag gamet keep in mind na mejo bawas yung quality ng color nya, some reviews or other people said na kapag sa dark room ginamet ang plasma, it's plasma over led/lcd. pero kapag maliwanag para sa iba pantay lang o pwedeng mas low quality sya. as for my experience I usually watch movies at night in dark room, then kapag sa hapon naglalaro ako I really put more curtains on my windows to prevent the sunlight and make my room darker. dagdag na din ma malakas sa electicity ang plasma, in which in my case diko na pinapansen yun, yung aircon nagpapalakas.

Dude ask ko lang, kapag nasa dark room ka tapos nanonood ka sa Plasma mo, hindi ba siya masakit sa mata yung tipong hindi ba masyado maliwanag?

If i may answer that...

No. Plasma is best viewed in a dark room. Di masakit sa mata.
Think of it like viewing a high def CRT display. Realistic, natural, not overly contrasted images. Real blacks. Di kagaya ng most leds wherein most blacks are the darkest shade of greyish black or blueish black.

well for me hinde naman masaket sa mata, otherwise ibebenta ko yun kung ganun, saka may mga option ka naman to calibrate the picture to satisfy your viewing. and like I said and sonofkratos said it is best viewed in a darker room. For me the difference to LED/LCD tv is when you watch the plasma in a lighted environment it produces a lower quality than watching it in darker room, kumbaga kumpara sa LED/LCD kapag pinanooran sa maliwanag na lugar, some says mas malinaw sya over plasma. It's like this, hinde naman panget manood ng LED/LCD sa dark room naman kase ok din sya, kumabaga maliwanag o madilem ay pareho ng linaw o quality sa LEDS, pero sa plasma mejo mahina sa maliwanag pero mas maganda naman sa madilem over LCD/LED. just my opinion. :2thumbs:

I just traded in my toshiba 40pu200 for an lg 42la6200 at sns, and i am very happy i did. The toshiba served me well for eight months but as i played next gen trailers and gameplay footage from the net, parang kulang. So i decided to spend a little more to get a future-proof tv. And i am extremely happy.

What do you guys use for protection of your home theater gear? Ups? Surge protector? Both? And how much would thos cost? Thanks!

Congrats! Natuloy pala. Did u get afair trade in amount foru the old tosh? Take your pick ka na lang sa surge protector or ups. Either will get the job done. Kung may budget pa, look into line conditioners as well.

Thanks! And thanks din for the heads up. I thought it was fair, i was expecting 15,000 at the least, nabigay sa akin 16,000 so okay naman.

Looking to go for a surge protector first, but i think i might need a ups for console updating/protection din. Ano exactly set-up mo for protecting your tech and may i ask magkano nagastos mo? Thanks!

planing to get a 47la7400 ilang buwan na ko nag cacanvass and nagbabasa ng reviews pero ang dami kong nakikitang negative feedback. They say it's really bad for gaming ang nirerecomend Y sony w802a but that tv is 30k more than the lg

@ron_bato - i just use 2 fused power strips and a hand-me-down AVR (from my mom) kaya di ako masyado napagastos. If i had it my way though, id go UPS.

Okay, thanks. I'll just do some research on what i should prioritize. Thanks! I'd rather go UPS na din, pero canvass muna ako.

I have not seen the reviews for the la7400, but I have seen both in person. The w802 has more natural colors, and mas vibrant yung screen. But I also didn't see anything wrong with the la7400 that couldn't be fixed with some picture calibration.

Personally? I'd buy the la7400, I think sobrang marginal na yung difference between the w802 and the la7400 that the 30,000 difference isn't worth it. Unless the w802 has a larger screen, or a completely different feature set than the la7400, I'd say but the lg and just save that 30k and use it for something else.

reviews are saying the input lag on the la7400 is terrible and the judder is bad as well especially in gaming hence it is not a good gaming tv. I planning to buy a tv to be use for gaming 70% of the time. I might settle na din sa lg cause hindi ko naman na maaafford yung sony

Sony tvs are really known for their excellent response time, and very minimal input lag. Pero okay din naman yung sa LG. Refer to this site for input lag database (sony w80 - 17 ms or 'excellent', lg la7400 - 39 ms -- which is 'great' under their rating) Using the game mode, which turns off all added processing will trim that input lag down a bit. In any case, unless you are really OC about input lag, i think it will be barely noticeable.
