Hungry for a meaty visual novel filled with mystery and intrigue? Philippines-based studio Kwan is slated to release its upcoming adventure game Exogenesis ~Perils of Rebirth~ on Steam after getting approved via Steam Greenlight. The Kickstarter campaign reached 30% of its $32,000 USD Kickstarter funding goal in just 7 days.

Exogenesis ~Perils of Rebirth~ is a post-apocalyptic adventure/visual novel hybrid inspired by Ace Attorney and Zero Escape games. It combines the point-and-click gameplay of adventure games with the heavy focus on storytelling found in visual novels. The game revolves around former wasteland treasure hunter Yu Sayashi who's on a quest to revive his dead sister.
Players have praised the Exogenesis' high production values relative to other titles in the genre, and the story's themes are nearly unheard of in commercial visual novels. In addition, the game features stunning renditions of post-apocalyptic Japan with real-life landmarks.

Exogenesis features over 20 hours of gameplay across 6 chapters, with several multiple endings for increased replayability. By gathering evidence from puzzles and conversations, players will be able to recruit the protagonist's former comrades to join him on his mission.
Early feedback on the game demo has been hugely positive, with Zero Escape creator Kotaro Uchikoshi acknowledging the Zero Escape-inspired game on social media. Japanese media has also written about the English-language game, most notably Yahoo! Japan.
Studio Kwan recently announced that if the Exogenesis Kickstarter campaign manages to reach $55,000 USD in funding, the game will feature full voice acting from the cast of TeamFourStar, the YouTube channel popularly known for their abridged Dragon Ball Z episodes.
