One Piece: Unlimited World Red Is Part Monster Hunter
Namco Bandai has a new game in the One Piece: Unlimited World series in development for Nintendo 3DS. A magazine scan for One Piece: Unlimited World Red shows Luffy, Sanji, Roronoa Zoro, and Tony Tony Chopper fighting a humongous dragon.
Unlimited World Red has the feeling of a multiplayer hunting game, but the game is more than battles. It also has fishing, digging, and bug catching.
Namco Bandai calls One Piece: Unlimited World Red a “multi action-adventure†game. It supports up to four players.

One Piece: Unlimited World Red Makes Usopp A Sniper And Chopper A Healer
V Jump magazine has tidbits of new information on One Piece: Unlimited World Red. As we’ve mentioned previously, Unlimited World Red draws inspiration from hunting action games like Monster Hunter, and has you battling large enemies in 4-player co-op. When you aren’t battling, you’ll be fishing, digging and catching bugs.
V Jump reveals abilities that some of Luffy’s cohorts will have. Franky can build a cannon on the spot and fire it at enemies. Chopper can mix together medicine to heal the group. Meanwhile, Usopp can sharp-shoot enemies from afar.
One Piece: Unlimited World Red also lets you play as Sanji and Zoro. We haven’t seen Nami in any gameplay footage or screens, but she’s present in the game, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see her available as a selectable character, too.
One Piece: Unlimited World Red doesn’t have a release date yet. You can watch a trailer for the game here.

Learn All About One Piece Unlimited World: Red’s Original Story
One Piece Unlimited World: Red keeps getting more enticing for fans. First came the news that arch-villain Red and new buddy Pat are getting the original treatment, having been designed by One Piece mangaka Eiichiro Oda. Now, Namco have shared new information on the game’s story alongside a new trailer.
Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates crew meet up with Pat, a tanooki with the mystical power to change leaves into whatever he’s written onto them. Pat requests that they bring him to “That island where I can meet someoneâ€â€“an island inauspiciously called The Forgotten Island. But waiting for them on the island is “The Earl†Red, a pirate who’s escaped from pirate prison Impel Down’s level 6–the deepest part of the prison.
Pat then mysteriously transforms into a quill pen which Red takes for himself, claiming the power as his own. Near the end of the video, Red’s also spotted about to bite into what appears to be a Devil Fruit–the fruits which give many One Piece characters their powers, such as Luffy’s rubber body. The trailer also shows off some of the bosses Luffy and his team will fight against, such as classic pirate Crocodile and Trafalgar Law. Why exactly they’re there has not been revealed.
Additionally, Namco have also shared a screenshot of the game’s pre-order bonus, which include a special mission where players can play as Ace, alongside the costume Luffy wore in the One Piece: Strong World movie (below). Ace’s special mission involves the Marine Ford arc and is a new, original mission, too.
One Piece Unlimited World: Red will be out for the Nintendo 3DS November 21st in Japan. The game will allow up to four players to play together.

One Piece Unlimited World: RED Has The Largest Town Of Any One Piece Game
4Gamer have the latest bit of news on One Piece Unlimited World: Red and the city-building portion of the game. Red will have the largest town ever yet seen in a One Piece title to date, with the introduction of new city Trans Town.
The large town will be built up by Luffy and crew by hunting down the right raw materials to create new facilities or expansions to the town. A pharmacy (above), factory, general store, restaurant and museum have been revealed to be buildable so far.
Players can also freely explore the town with Luffy using a new “Rubber rubber action†style that has Luffy’s rubber body extending to grapple up buildings.
Finding building materials will require players to head out into the world to gather wood, animals and the like to be traded in. There’s fishing, insect gathering, plant gathering and other such mini-games.
It’s also been noted that some materials can’t be found unless you use specific characters or have them in tandem with you in co-op. I guess it helps to have more friends pulling on your back when you go fishing for humongous whoppers, right?
One Piece Unlimited World: Red will be out for the Nintendo 3DS November 21st in Japan.

One Piece Unlimited World: RED Lets You Perform Co-Op Combination Attacks
Gathering materials to build up Trans Town is one thing, but while you’re out in the field hunting down the goods, you’ll have to fight a variety of monsters and other ne’er-do-wells. Fortunately, Luffy won’t be fighting alone. One Piece Unlimited World: Red’s game will allow up to four player co-op.
Bringing friends is a good idea, as you’ll then be able to unleash special combination attacks that deal major damage against foes. In the screenshots in this post, Luffy, Chopper and Franky seem to get one set of attacks, while Zoro, Usopp and Brook get another. Finally, Nico Robin, Sanji and Nami look like they’ll be able to combine attacks, too.
Whether there are more varieties or smaller combinations for two-player co-op has yet to be revealed.
During fights, it will be possible to time button presses to evade an enemy’s attack, block with a perfect guard moment, and even counter—which will be necessary when going up against either that powerful ice yeti or multiple foes. It’s also possible to bring friends along when facing down bosses.

Finally! A Swimsuit That Actually Does Something Other Than Look Pretty
While we’re all very used to the idea of seeing gratuitous swimsuit usage, it’s always with a sigh of relief when we get to see the occasional times it’s actually got a use other than for fanservice. Like these One Piece Unlimited World: Red DLC costumes.
Sure, Robin and Nami look great in them, but they also confer special stats when worn, which actually make sense… kind of. Wearing them confers a 50% reduction to water damage, but since they’re prancing about in their swim gear, also lowers overall hit points by 15%. Who wears armored swimsuits anyway, right? And Chopper looks so adorable with his float!
The costumes all cost 400 yen each ($4) and are available now, with each conferring different benefits. The school girl wear for instance lets both the lovely lasses get 10% SP recovery rate on their attacks, while Zoro, being the badass that he is, deals 20% more damage to, quite literally “the small fryâ€. He slices, he dices, and he looks swag.
