PS3 slim auto shutdown

Hey guys, im not sure if anyone had the same issue with their ps3. My PS3 slim unit shuts down automatically after about an hour of use. There are no lights or beeps. When i try to turn it on again by pressing the power button nothing happens. I need to unplug then plug it in again for it to work. Then after a while the unit shuts down again. This happens regardless if the game is a disc or in the hard drive.

Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone know where i can have this fixed?

same problem here ps3 slim 120gb. sa akin twice na nangyare nung naglaro ako ang deus ex (detroit basketball court ). Nag autoshutdown sya tapos blinking red light. Nakarecover naman ps3 ko and can even withstand 10hour gameplays.

Recent red light blinking ko is today. Ayaw mag load to XMB from standby. But eventually naka recover din. Hopefully database issue lang to.

Ganyan na ganyan ang symptoms ng ps3 slim ko. Minsan 1 hour, minsan 10 minutes, at minsan mag-start pa lang ang game ay mag-shutdown na. Hanggang sa hindi na ako makalaro ng 2 games, ayun pina-reball ko. So far maayos na ulit pero mukhang ibabalik ko ulit ito kay Roy kasi since napa-ayos ko ito, ay twice na ulit ako nakakaranas ng shutdowns.

Nagresearch ako sa net the past few days. Possible power supply issue din daw ito. Ipapatingin ko na nga ito para sure. Mahirap na. Yung luma ko na fat dati nabiktima na ng ylod, ngayon yung slim naman nagsisimula na rin. Hindi ko na narecover yung data ko sa luma, kaya ngayon back up ko na ng maaga.

Saan po pwede magparepair? Ganito rin po issue ng Ps3 Slim ko, per sakin around 5 mins lang

I had the same problem with my 120g Slim. It would shut down automatically after a few minutes of use, usually 30 minutes, usually in the morning when it's hot. It got to a point where it would shut down after 10 minutes. After some googling, I found a youtube video that helped me. You have to adjust the 2 trimpots (OCP and PCF) in the PSU. Here's the vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ENdoxIVshM. I tried this a month ago and no problems so far. The comments and the description in the video are helpful too. A word of advice: open at your own risk. If you are still under warranty, use it first. I bought a second hand PS3 which is why I was willing to open it. Good luck!

na try ko rin ang tutorial na yan and it definitely worked for me. Last november ko naranasan yan and up to now wala nako naranasan na auto shutdown. I highly recommend it. Madali lang naman siyang gawin. nahirapan lang ako yung paghahanap ng screwdriver para dun sa security screw ng ps3 buti nalang nakahanap ako sa Handyman hehe. ^_^

effective kaya to? TEXT SPEAK VIOLATION ps3 ko kasi nakakalaro pa din naman ako ng games for about 3 hours before mag with blinking red lights. not yet reflowed nor reballed..virgin pa try ko muna mag DIY baka umubra hehe

Ako dati ko pa naexperience pero binalewala ko nun...nitong weekend lang talaga dumalas. I have a 250gb Ps3 slim, bought in 2010. Napapansin ko madalas sya nagsha-shutdown pag cutscenes specifically sa GOW collection. 3 mabibilis na beep muna TEXT SPEAK VIOLATION ayun mamamatay na sya then magbi-blink lang yung red light sa power button. Ino-on ko uli sya, magrerecover, then back to normal naman. Pagbalik ko sa game, ganun uli mangyayari. Ganito po ba nangyari sa unit nyo? Susubukan ko sa weekend yang nasa video kung ganun...tenks!

i tried the steps in the video. trial and error

about three times opened. it worked for a couple of days

. it's now acting up the same again.

its due for a psu replacement. so all my gaming activities are on hold for the moment. it was worth the try. so does anyone have a defective ps3 slim (160g/320g) with a good psu (EADP 200BB) lying around somewhere? bilhin ko na lang.

In case magpapalit ng PSU, do you have an idea kung saan maganda kumuha? Meron bang mabibilhan dito ng replacement PSU (like service and parts shop for Sony)?

hmmmm...wala akong nakitang alternative sa special screw driver (T8 screw). Ang plano ko e bumili na lang sa hardware stores like Handyman or Ace. Sa ngayon di ko pa sya inattempt buksan.

Nga pala, may bago akong naobserve sa unit ko. Di ko alam kung may nakaexperience na din nito. Kanina ko lang nakita na may update pala sa Uncharted 3. Nung pinili ko magdownload ng update, nagrestart bigla PS3

ko without blinking red light. As in normal light nya na green kahit nung nagrestart. Hindi rin nagrecover/safe mode. Inulit ko ng ilang beses kaso ganun pa rin. Hanggang "Please wait" lang sya tapos restart na. Bago ko isalang yung Uncharted 3 nakalaro pa naman ako ng ibang games. Sa Uncharted 3 update lang sya nagrestart ngayon. Yung isang issue ko e yung sa GOW Collection na nakuha ko sa GOW Saga (R3). Dun sya nagsha-shutdown talaga with blinking red light. Paki-post na lang kung alam nyo ang cause ng ganitong issue/s. Thanks.

Bumili ako ng set of screwdrivers at sinubukan ko yun T8 sa unit ko pero masyadong mahigpit.
Yun pala pwede na yun ordinary flat head screwdriver.
