Resident Evil: Revelations Collection [Switch]

Do you also play with non-PlayStation devices? Do you enjoy playing as a plumber saving a princess? Or some bald marines? Or maybe you want to play using the touchscreen?

The 2012 and 2015 survival horror games, Resident Evil: Revelations 1 and 2 are coming to the Nintendo Switch late this year.

Capcom has announced that in addition to the re-release of Resident Evil: Revelations on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on August 29, both Revelations and its sequel will be also be coming to Nintendo Switch before the end of 2017.

These revisions will see the iterations of the popular series running an increased frame rate at 1080p as well as add improvements to animations and details within the games.

Fans of the series will also be able to play the familiar Raid Mode with an added twist in The Ghost Ship: Chaos. This version of the popular mode will see players being able to access more powerful weapons and upgrades, but have to deal with shaken up enemy placements for an additional challenge.

This isn't the first time Revelations has had the HD treatment. Last time Capcom moved the 3DS original to a higher resolution, it didn't do the game any favours.

parang sa vita din... sana lang maayos ang pagka port nito. Pero for its individual retail price ok na.

The Resident Evil Revelations titles will be sold as a combo pack known as the Resident Evil Revelations Collection. This will be sold in stores across North America as well as on the eShop. The retail version will come with one cartridge containing Revelations and a digital download voucher for Revelations 2.

You’ll be able to purchase the Resident Evil Revelations Collection in stores for $40. Both games will also be sold individually on the eShop for $20

pag naka dock siguro baka dun maging 1080p. Para sa kin ok naman yung vita version ng RER2, ni halos wala nga noticeable na lag sa gameplay kahit pa hindi ko dinownload yung day1 patch (di na kasi kasya sa memory card eh). Pag raid mode smooth din naman sya.

For its price, ok na rin.

But with just a textsensor I cant switch anything.

The above image is a switch, but with the functionality of a text sensor integrated. The circled part is dynamic.

Mas prefer ko sana kung physical copy pareho but since hindi ko pa natapos to sa 3DS / Vita noon, I'll splurge on it again. =)

Capcom has unveiled a new aspect regarding the Switch versions of Resident Evil Revelations 1 and 2 on Switch. Both titles will have original mini-games built in.

In Resident Evil Revelations, players can take on Ghost Ship Panic. This is a shooter in which you aim for a high score and earn BP to use in Raid Mode. It’s accessible on the initial load screen.

For Resident Evil Revelations 2, Capcom is including Ghouls ‘n Homunculi. Here you’ll explore a deadly island as Barry Button, which is a tribute to Ghouls ‘n Ghosts. You can also go for the high score here and earn rewards for Raid Mode.

The Switch version of both Resident Evil Revelations games are based on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One games that received HD 60 frames per second support.

This version has Joy-Con support with motion control and HD Rumble, and also Joy-Con share play which is only available in Revelations 2. Once again, all DLC is already included from the get-go, and it also supports multiple languages in both voice and text. Both games also have local co-op, so you can play with two separate Switch systems as well.

The first Resident Evil Revelations features a 1080p resolution when playing on a television, and 720p resolution in portable mode. It also runs at 60 frames per second.

By holding ZL on the Joy-Con, you can aim your gun with the right Joy-Con’s motion control. You can even use the left Joy-Con as a magazine to simulate a reloading motion. Other motion controls include slashing horizontally to simulate a knife attack, and swinging the Joy-Con vertically for a quick reload. Motion controls are optional and can be set to on or off from the options settings. However, motion controls are not supported with the Pro Controller.

Classic controls are also available. For example, you can put up your gun with ZR and then press X to fire.

Switch’s HD Rumble allows for more detailed and complex vibrations. There will be new kinds of rumble that weren’t in the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 also runs at 1080p when playing on a television. However, it seems like this one doesn’t have 60 frames per second (at least the TGS build doesn’t) because the game involves heavier processing. But the graphics should be rather close to the PS4 version.

As mentioned before, Revelations 2 has Joy-Con share play feature. Although the screen would be too small in tabletop mode, there shouldn’t be any problem at all for co-op in TV mode. Due to the fewer buttons available when sharing Joy-Con, the developers have said that it will have a unique control scheme. Specifics have not been shared at this time.
