Need For Speed SHIFT 2

Electronic Arts announced during its fiscal Q1 earnings call this afternoon it will release Need For Speed: Shift 2 early next year for consoles and PC.

No other details about the game were revealed. EA's earnings release notes the game is a co-published title.

The Need for Speed Shift series was first released in 2009 for multiple platforms. The game was developed by London-based Slightly Mad Studios and was met with positive response by critics.

"I can confirm the announcement but we have nothing more to add," an EA representative told IGN.

Kasi minsan nakakapagod din and simulation talaga, kaya ok din sakin ang semi sim / semi arcade na dating ng Shift. Plus I love the body kits na pwede ilagay.

Electronic Arts today let us know that the next Need For Speed, the one following today's release of Hot Pursuit, will hit in the spring of 2011.

That's really all they tell us about Shift 2 Unleashed, opting instead to drop this trailer on us and more adjectives than I think I've ever seen in a press release. Here are just a few: visceral, physical, intense, primal, break-neck. We also are told that players' hands will both sweat and ache as they play the game.

That's some mighty fine hyperbole they have going on in that release.

Look out for actual details to hit about the game, in development by Slightly Mad Studios, later this month.

Shift was a brilliant game. Very insane sense of speed, tight controls, amazing graphics and possibly the best cockpit view in a racing game (haven't seen GT5's yet so I can't comment on that). Also, this isn't a total sim racer. It has a very arcadey feel to it. I also can't comment on the online as I didn't touch it.

If I had to choose between those three games, Shift would be the last one I'd pick even though it was awesome. Hot Pursuit is just more fun and GT5 IS the staple racing game so you can't really argue. It all boils down to preference though. If you want no-holds-barred racing, get Hot Pursuit. If you want sim-like handling yet still very accessible, get Shift. If you want the full sim experience, get GT5.

a definite buy for me. i was always contemplating on getting the 1st one, but then i just opted to wait for gt5 then this came along. great news indeed.

Agree ako sa cockpit view ng first game, the BEST!
Lahat ng racing games na nilaro ko since PS1 lagi nakaset yung view ko na kita yung kotse pwera sa SHIFT. Di nakakahilo at mas feel mo talagang ikaw nagddrive.
