Carmack: Rage runs faster on Xbox 360
The Xbox 360 and PC versions of id's Rage sport higher framerates than the PlayStation 3 version, the latest issue of Edge magazine reveals.

In a ten-page reveal in its latest issue, Edge writes that the Xbox 360 version of Rage - which uses id's new Tech 5 engine - matches the 60fps framerate of the PC version, while PS3 runs at just "20-30fps".

It's not mentioned whether the PS3 framerate will be addressed by the game's eventual release.

"The PS3 lags a little bit behind in terms of getting the performance out of it," John Carmack told Edge. "The rasteriser is just a little bit slower - no two ways about that.

"The RSX is slower than what we have in the 360. The CPU is about the same, but the 360 makes it easier to split things off, and that's what a lot of the work has been, splitting it all into jobs on the PS3," he said.

Carmack have you tried asking for help from Naughty Dog? Polyphony Digital? Insomniac? Santa Monica Studios? If not I highly suggest you do.

Really... what a lame excuse to give for not being able to do a proper port for a multiplatform game.
Para sakin if you can't make it work on all systems.... make it a frakin' exclusive na lang kung san mo talaga mapapagana ng maayos yung game instead of giving the shorthanded platform a lame ass excuse like "ang hirap kasi mag dev sa X platform...masyado technical".

Hey developer.. if some companies can make kick ass games in this platform, ever wonder why your game turned out to be trash? Tsk tsk tsk... :facepalm:

That punk ass Carmack is just starting a f****ng console war all over again.

Lets just wait and see how the final build of that game runs and then we decide if the PS3 version really does pale in comparison with the other console's version of that game.

as i know john carmack, he's an excellent programmer for opengl, which is a native of ps3, but now mas ok na sya sa dx?? baka hindi lang nattweak pa hehehe...

hmm may nabasa aku article na si john carmack being a legendary programmer that he is, is only of the few devs na kayang mag command kung anu gusto niya na feature na mailalagay sa mga video cards

at prompt reply naman ang mga ati at nvidia

kung nahihirapan sa carmack pagandahin ang rage sa ps3 kahit na may tulong na ng naughty dog....

baka talagang madidiscover ng ang limit ng ps3... :o
and in fairness naman, lahat ng gawa ni carmack ay talagang top notch ang grapphics ng generation na yaon

and since graphics naman ang pinaguusapan

kung sakaling matatalo ng crysis 2 ang rage pag dating sa visuals....may chansang baka talgang di niya gamay itu

ngunit subalit datapwat kung match sila or lamang ang rage...maaaring totoo nga ang kanyang naisasaad :(
looking for: doa 5 ultimate and gta V hohoho!
