Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC (TitS Second Chapter)

Let's talk about anything about video games, no matter what platform it is. What is your favorite game? Who is your favorite character? What are the recently released games? What is DLC (downloadable content)? How do I beat this boss? How do I set up my team?

This explains why we didn't get SC in 2014, after ng malaking announcement nila last Sept 2013 na 2014 daw yun ilalabas.

Hi! Glad to see a fellow TitS fan here  Yes, pwedeng laruin yung SC sa Vita. Ang plano kasi ng XSEED (publisher/localizer ng TitS), i-release digitally yung SC sa Playstation Store (for PSP/Vita) at sa Steam/GOG (for PC).

I suggest buying a Vita and playing SC there if you want it portable, or kung may laptop/PC ka, dun na lang kasi ang FC at SC malalaro mo in HD. Your choice. Ako binili ko parehas sa PSN Store at Steam :bigmouth: Post ka sa Trails in the Sky thread natin kung may tanong ka pa. Welcome na welcome ka dun. :2thumbs:

EDIT: PSN sale ngayon. So ang TitS $8.00 lang for PS+ subscribers. That's a steal at that price.

Hmmm... just a few clarifications...
(Pagkapo kasi bibili pa ako ng Vita for TITS, di tlga worth it so most likely the logical choice would be to play it on PC)

2) PSN meaning online, so kelangan mo ng credit card transaction?

[A]By credit card
By buying PSN cards/credits from Datablitz/iTech/Amazon/other online sellers

I prefer using method since I often buy $50 (P2250 if converted) PSN credits for only P1700-P1800. Mas maganda kung sa mga trusted online sellers ka na lang bumili (here's the seller's post if you want to check it out: http://www.pinoyps.com/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=64326). Ang method of payment sa online sellers ay usually through bank deposit. Once you deposit the payment, they'll text the codes that you'll have to input on the PSN Store, which will then "top up" your account so that it'll have the credits that you paid for.

I wouldn't worry about that if I were you, although the download might still take a couple of hours. Tulugan mo na lang

Hmmm... few more questions po:

1) If i had the saved file nung sa FC, pwede kong gamitin yun for the SC?

1. Yes, pwedeng gamitin/i-transfer yung FC savefile mo to SC, pero dapat on the same platform (PSP FC savefile pwede i-transfer to PSP SC game only, di pwede PSP to PC transfer). As for what gets transfered to SC, rewards lang makukuha mo:
As for the rewards, aside from three relatively minor items, you start the game 5 levels above the normal starting level. (assuming you levelled Estelle up to level 40 in FC) Finally, there's a quartz that raises item drop rate from enemies if you finished FC with maximum Bracer Points.

SC update from (the always sexy) Jessica Chavez:

Image

Ito na talaga. Sure na talaga for 2015 ang SC :D Kailangan pa raw i-insert yung text sa game mismo, tsaka syempre yung testing phase. Sana before sa 1st half ng taon ma-release.

The End is Nigh.
Trails in the Sky SC’s text is done. I announced this back in January when I passed in the last file, but I think even those who know can sit back and appreciate that statement one more time. Trails in the Sky SC, a game that’s been baking in Gehenna’s oven for almost four years now, is finally on its way to something like an actual release date.

Initially, my duty on Trails SC was to oversee the project in a general sense. As the original editor for the previous game (and a person with the intimate and inane details of hundreds of NPCs burned into her brain), I was the logical choice to look over the sequel. I was to go over the edited files as they were finished, ensure the tone didn’t stray too far from FC, and fiddle with treasure chest text whenever a new bottle of wine was opened. From November 2013 until mid-2014 I busied myself with sifting through the main scenario, reformatting that text into a usable format with attractive windows, meddling here and there, and pulling the terminology into line. System text was not translated at the time the main scenario or NPC files were done, so I also took a seven month stroll through nightmare memory lane revisiting FC’s system text to make sure SC’s files matched internally and externally. This lead to a lot of amusing notes being added to the massive spreadsheet of NPCs I had created before I started on the project and some embarrassing discoveries.

While I went through the main scenario text I also ran each major scene by a recorded playthrough of the game. SC’s main scenario is roughly twice the size of FC’s (*please see the “Dirty Breakdown”) and has more Olivier than ever. Based on just that alone, I think I can assure you guys with some certainty that you’re going to enjoy the hell out of the story. You’ll also probably need a spreadsheet to keep track of all the citizens of Liberl since they refused to stay in their respective regions and kept getting married and going on pilgrimages and…
image

After finishing up my review/reformatting of the completed scenario text, I then moved on to scouring what NPC files were completed. But Trails being what it is (a game that eats people), I was brought on in full as a replacement editor back in July of 2014 to finish the remaining fifty percent of the game by December. I didn’t.

For the next six and half months until mid-January I spent a lot of time in the company of late night TV. As much as working on Trails at that pace feels like drowning half the time, I did, however, gain an appreciation anew of just how detailed this series is. It’s no secret to anyone who’s played FC that every damn thing in these games has something to say and they switch it up a lot. What’s been done even better in SC, however, is the scope and depth of these random characters you might pass by in other games. I followed an NPC with an existential crisis and a few screws loose all around Liberl, I applauded as a neglected wife got her revenge over the course of three chapters by mastering her husband’s beloved hobby, new generations were born, NPCs met, dated and got married… I’m still kind of in awe at the sheer planning that went into this game. (I can say that now that I’m done and past being horrified at the sheer planning that went into this game.)
For those not as impressed with the daily machinations of minor characters, there are other things to look forward to in SC, like fishing. And casino games. And new books. Did I mention there’s fishing? The magic system has also been beefed up (Combo attacks! New crafts!), and there are some pretty cool new books secreted about Liberl. And if you’re still concerned about replay value, know that early on you’ll have to buddy up with either Schera or Agate* and both branches are worth a playthrough.

Trails in the Sky SC has overcome a lot of hurdles getting to this point and tried the patience of many a fan. I’ve read the forums and seen the feedback online. Boy have I seen the feedback… You guys have been pretty great and understanding, though, seriously. It’s an absolute pleasure, then, to finally get to share some more details, especially some of the early jacked-up fruits of our labor.
image

Expect more, less wonky-looking details to reveal themselves in the next several months as we polish things on our way to release. And while that date’s not set yet, what I can tell you with pretty good authority is that though this game has been a long time coming, it’s one that’s definitely worth the wait.

Hmm... kung maglalasing ulit si Schera, siya pipiliin ko sa first playthrough ko instead of Agate :2thumbs:

Yep, and just found out that she's not an internal staff of xseed na pala.. localization consultant na lang for SC.. nakakatuwa si jessica na hindi niya binitawan itong SC and tyaga niya sa pag localize na inabot na ng 5 years.. nakaka worry din ng konti na wala na siya sa xseed.. she's the most dedicated game tranlator na yata na alam ko..

Latest update from the XSEED forums (http://forum.marvelous-usa.com/index.ph ... ntry899375):
Master testing, in this case, refers to Sony evaluating the game to ensure it meets their standards to be offered on PSN, and fixing any issues they might have that would prevent it from doing so.

For PC titles, Valve and GOG don't have any such mastering requirements -- I don't know exactly how they work (particularly GOG, since I've only personally worked on Steam releases before), but I do know they more or less pre-approve games early on as opposed to giving final approval at the end of the process. So we're already good to go for the PC version -- we could theoretically release it RIGHT NOW if we wanted to, but it's not quite ready for that. There are still a few too many small issues that need to be resolved to ensure the game doesn't crash on people or create weird skip points or screw up an important story scene.

In other words, we're waiting for master testing to finish for the PSP version, whereas for the PC version, we're finalizing our own internal testing to ensure the game meets *our* standards.

Our plan is to finish one alongside the other, though, and everything is pretty much on schedule for that to be the case. So we should be releasing simultaneously after all.

Regarding how big SC is on PSP, I can't recall the exact number, but it's somewhere above the 2 GB mark, IIRC. I'd say make sure you have at least 3 GB free to be safe.
