I think games today are generally easier not because of game mechanics, but because of the introduction a game saves and checkpoint feature on games. Just imagine playing the Witcher 3 with only 3 lives and no continues. Definitely mas mahirap ang Witcher 3 because the game mechanics are much more complicated.

Yung checkpoint pa ang lapit dun sa point na namatay ka, tulad ng boss fights. Pagka-revive, konting lakad, nasa boss na uli.

Kumpara dati, ang layo ng checkpoint saka nung boss.
