Mass Effect: Andromeda announced

Electronic Arts and BioWare officially announced Mass Effect: Andromeda, the next entry in the critically acclaimed RPG series, will launch during holiday 2016 for PlayStation 4.

Good thing or bad thing? I'd say it's a good thing. There's already too many too soon remasters floating around.

According to the developer blog, Mass Effect: Andromeda takes place far away from and long after the events of the original trilogy and offers “exciting new worlds to discover, great characters, and intense action.”

“You’ll be exploring an all-new galaxy, Andromeda, and piloting the new and improved Mako you saw,” the post reads. “And through it all, you will have a new team of adventurers to work with, learn from, fight alongside of, and fall in love with.”

Mass Effect 4 was officially announced as Mass Effect: Andromeda during EA’s E3 press conference today, and is slated for a holiday 2016 release on PlayStation 4.

BioWare senior development director Chris Wynn revealed on Twitter the game’s combat will include “new elements that make it more dynamic” but will have a “similar feel” to Mass Effect 3 overall.

Wynn also confirmed that no major character from the previous games will appear in Andromeda. This comes as little surprise given that the fourth entry in the series shifts the action to an entirely new galaxy: the Andromeda system.

However, some elements from the original trilogy, such as the Mako vehicle, will be making a comeback.

"There are plenty of non-character connections," he revealed, referring to lore established in the original trilogy. "Races, stuff like the Mako. Fans will feel at home." There aren't going to be any more peeks at gameplay for a long time as the studio focuses on building the game, which is due for release by holiday 2016.

There are new alien races introduced with Andromeda that presumably we'll meet for the first time as humans. It's believed BioWare will be forgoing any competitive multiplayer and they're currently casting for voice actors.

This a sure-buy for me. Just finished the Mass Effect Trilogy.
Do you think Shephard will be the main protagonist to this game or a new hero will be introduced to us?
Shephard's great but he/she has already done too much, sacrificed too much to be used again.
Only in the Destroy ending of ME3 we can see a figure with N7 armor to be gasping for breath and we don't know if that's even Shephard.
In control, he died but became eternal, immortal.
In Synthesis, he also died with his DNA as trigger for the organics and synthetics to become as one.

And... pardon me for the spoilers.

I hope this is a solid release date. I want a new co-op multiplayer game to take up most of my time.

Yeah. I care more about MP than the campaign. Weird, i know.

Nag-enjoy din ako sa MP mode ng Mass Effect 3. Pero other than the mp mode, solid na naman ang story niyan.

Haven't played ME1 yet, though. Time to dust off my PS3.

Nilaro ko nung December yung ME1 and I liked it, I liked it alot kahit puro story sometimes and konti action. Played ME2 right after and the switched L and R shoulder buttons really messed up my interest so I stopped playing muna just to unlearn ME1's controls. What can I say, Instead of selecting weapons, I end up wasting bullets..

But I think I'll pause for a while, mga mid year na lang siguro para fresh pa story ng ME trilogy sa isip ko pag dumating itong Andromeda.
