Namco Bandai announced Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment for PS Vita at the Dengeki Bunko Fall Festival in Akihabara today.


The game, due out next year in Japan, is set in Aincrad’s unexplored “Hollow Area,” and follows protagonist Kirito, who crosses paths with a mysterious girl who wields a uniquely shaped sword and is one of the title’s key characters

In related news, it was announced that Sword Art Online‘s “Extra Edition” anime TV special will air in Japan on December 31 at 22:00. You’ll be able to watch it on Tokyo MX, BS11, and Nico Nico Douga. Here’s the synopsis:

Yui wants to see a whale, so Kirito and company challenge an underwater quest in Alfheim Online. But a surprising fact comes to light. Strangely enough, Leafa… Suguha can’t handle being in the water. In the real world, Asuna and the girls give Suguha a swimming lesson. Meanwhile, Kirito has a meeting with a certain someone.

More information about Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment comes from Dengeki PlayStation. The magazine reports that the PlayStation Vita game will have co-op, but Namco Bandai is keeping the details a secret for now.



Also, the map feels spacious and you can see the horizon on it. In combat, players can continuously attack an enemy by pressing auto attack and the regular attack button. Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment will have more romance elements between Kirito and the game’s heroines such as holding hands with them.



Namco Bandai is considering to have some kind of save data transfer feature in Hollow Fragment that connects to the PSP game Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment. Seven Days Way, the company that created the story for the Sword Art Online series is working on the story for the Vita game.

Sayang lang kasi mukhang digital lang siya sa NA. Although ang alam ko may asian copy na lalabas na may option for english text. If totoo, I'd much rather get that.

Bandai Namco announced Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita at the Dengeki Bunko Fall Festival in Akihabara. The game, which was first teased at the Tokyo Game Show in September, will launch in Japan in 2016.

The game is set in a new virtual reality MMORPG called “Sword Art: Origin.” The servers of the death game “Sword Art Online” are the base of this new game, and its setup served as research and development. In this virtual reality MMORPG that resembles past events, Kirito receives a single message.

Bandai Namco announced today that the upcoming JRPG Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization, based on the popular light novel and anime series, will be released in the west in 2016.

The game takes place in a new VRMMORPG named Sword Art: Origin, similar to the original Aincrad, but somehow different, based on the original servers.
