Shenmue 3 Most Likely Coming to PS4

According to a recent interview on Kotaku, Sony has shared its plans on bringing back games that fans have been asking for. One of the games that happened to got the most requests was the Shenmue franchise.

Schreier: With the caveat that this is all up in the air, this is all in negotiations, are there any that you guys have in mind that you would really like to bring over here?P

Boyes: I think a lot—we get a ton of requests for Yakuza, a ton of requests for Shenmue. We see the lists. Like everything that people have tweeted Gio, literally we have a person that compiles those lists and prioritizes based on how many requests we've gotten. And I think to date there's well over 10,000 mentions across like forum threads and stuff like that. So those are the ones we're focused on.

The fact that Boyes went out of his way to mention Shenmue means that their highly considering bringing the franchise over. Further more, Mark Cerny (PS4 dev) himself has approached Shenmue creator, Yu Suzuki on the possibility of bringing Shenmue 3 on the PS4.

OMFG! Yes, please! I loved the Shenmue games, and I'm still hoping and waiting for Shenmue 3. This is definitely good news! Sana matuloy!

I played this on the Sega DC and XBOX1... I could say that along GTA Franchise, sila nagpauso ng genre ng free roaming environment with mini-games/side missions.

Noong una ko itong nalaro, nakakabilib itong game na ito first it came out. You can sleep, work for money, play a little side-missions to level up and of course do your main objectives as the story goes. Oh, sila rin nag-pauso yata ng QTE Response system (Quick Time Event). More of a interactive action cutscenes.

I think malaki din possibility for vita and ps3.. kasama din sa list yung final fantasy type zero and yung Suikoden from PSP

Sana ma remake den yung 1 and 2 medyo nalimutan ko na yung story e

Shenmue's protagonist Ryo has some daddy issues to settle.
Parang gusto kong laruin uli ah hehehe... You just need to memorize all his progressing combat moves coz that will save your life all through out the game.

Yeah.. HD version of 1 & 2 for current gen. Miss ko na yung mga tambayan doon. Yung bar na may arcade games ng Sega. Saka yung pag insert ng coin then may makukuha kang collectible figures like Sonic.

Pag may vacant hours ka pa sa hapon after work, punta ka sa Playground/Park to practice your fighting skills.
Sa umaga naman magcocomute ka papuntang work bilang isang Forklift operator. Parang mini-game din ang system ng day job mo.

This game's potential (along with GTA) gave birth to the "open-world" genre real as it gets.

Adik akio nun dun sa may darts, tsaka yung forklift ba tawag dun, racing with coworkers

hopefully totoo ito, dati ko pa gusto masubukan yung shenmue pero never had the chance

Damn this sounds awesome. Used to play a lot of Shenmue on the dreamcast when I was a kid.
