R1: First-Party games published by Sony (i.e. Uncharted, LBP2 kase Region Locked ang DLCs nila) at Game Series na gusto ko i.e. Assassin's Creed, Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy etc.
R3: Third-Party games na region-free ang DLCs

Malas ko lang kase yung LBP2 na nabili ko ay R3

Mga promotional codes, online passes ang DLC mula sa mga games... usually 12 digit code sila...

Halimbawa:
Bayonetta Naughty Dress DLC
LOV3-FVCK-S3XX

Halimbawa:
S.K.P. Map Pack for Sleeping Skyrims (SG Store)
Available now for SG$69.99

I do not have my PS3 yet but I am about to receive it on thursday. I know for one that you choose the region when making a new PSN account. So what did you guys choose? Is there a Philippine region or do I just choose US region? My PS3 is from the US, btw.

We choose US. Then we also create another accounts for Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, etc. It's normal to have multiple accounts from multiple regions

May I know why you make multiple accounts for different regions?

To use a specific PlayStation Store (US, HK, SG, JP, EU, etc), you need the region-specific PSN account. And different regions of have different contents, so you really need different accounts.

Why do we need the contents from different stores? The games (R1, R2, R3 as we call it), get their add-on contents from specific region of stores. If I'm going to buy extra cars for my R1/US Need For Speed Most Wanted, I need to access the R1/US store. I can't get it from the R2/JP store.

So I have a US PSN account and I'm about to finish downloading Tekken Revolution. My question is, if my PSN account is US, will the matchmaking system match me with US people? If so, should I just make an asian PSN account so that I'll receive lower ping by being matched with people within Asia? :D

It depends on the game. Some games depend on the region of your PSN account. Some, on the game itself.

Yes, try to create an Asian account (HK or SG will do) and see the difference.

When Metal Gear Online was still active, some members here bought the Japanese version since it will connect to Japan servers. That results to faster connection.

I have 2 accounts with PS store,US and HK.I created the US account first but hadn't accessed it for sometime. When I accessed the PS Store icon in the XMB I was prompted to update the software and so I did.But after that, whenever I enter my US PS Store account details in through the XMB a message will pop-up saying that the account is already in use and that I should create a new account. So I'm thinking that my US account is still active but the PS store in my XMB is set to HK store.

How will I be able to access both accounts in my console?

For PS3? Or PS4?

You should add another user for your HK account. Meaning, 1 user = 1 PSN account. You just switch user accounts to access each store.

If I purchase and download a game using my US PSN account, will I be able to play it with my HK PSN / User account? Or will the game be locked to that specific US account?

Also, does downloading with a US account mean that I'm downloading from a US server? Same with the online games? Thanks in advance! :)

Yes, you can play it your console using any account. As long as the account used to download that game is on your console, it should work. No locking for games.

Yes you're downloading from a US server but I think they have servers based on Asia too that's why when you download you won't feel that it's that slow.

For online games I think it depends on the region of the game and game + account.
