New Resident Evil 6 Details Revealed at Anniversary Event
Third main character, mysterious enemy, and massive scale.

Capcom closed off today's Resident Evil Anniversary Premier Party event with a full stage devoted to the just announced Resident Evil 6. Executive producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi, producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi and director Eiichiro Sasaki took the stage to share additional details beyond what had been shown in the trailer from earlier in the day.
The three shared similar sentiments in their opening comments. Noting that they've been working on the project in secret for years, they said they were glad to be able to announce it today.
RE6 has the largest staff count in series history, said Hirabayashi. He gave a specific figure of around 150 people, but noted that when you add in overseas staff and other contributing parties, it comes to over 600.
Regarding the game's story and characters, Kobayashi mentioned the ability to play as Leon and Chris. These two were announced earlier in the day.
Kobayashi also revealed that the game has a third main character, another male lead. While Kobayashi would not share the character's name, he did share an image. The third main character is described as "the man who's told to save the world."
The game's story begins in America. As detailed earlier, the President is about to make an official statement about bioterror and the Raccoon City incident, when he himself becomes transformed into a zombie following a bioterror attack.
Leon is at the President's side when the bioterror attack occurs. He and a girl named Helena Harper end up traveling together. Helena had been on security detail for the president.
Meanwhile, Chris is working some bioterror case in China. His and Leon's stories will progress simultaneously. The China side will take place primarily in one particular city.

Tingin ko may mercenaries mode ito, kasi yung pre-order bonus na kasam dito ay map DLC eh. So it's either Mercenaries or some form of Competitive multiplayer. (Like the VS mode from RE 5?)

Leon and Chris will work together. They are both playable. For the first time ever, these two characters will be in a same game.
Ashley seems to be back.
The game is action oriented. Capcom are calling it ‘dramatic horror’.
The game is set 10 years after the Racoon city incident.
There will be multiple playable characters.
The graphics are much improved over Resident Evil 5. It looks much more crispy and features a lot of neat visual effects. The lighting and textures are also impressive.
China is under threat from a bio-terror attack.
The game is a globe-trotting adventure.
There will be a deep melee combat system

You can see some beautiful Chinese locations which also showcases the lighting tech.
The game seems to be going back to the “horror†roots of the older Resident Evil games while also keeping the action at an all time high.
Animations are fantastic.
Chris’ gameplay will probably feature cover based shooting, as seen in the video at 1:52 and 2:45.
The ability to slide into cover will also be featured into game, as seen at 2:45.
Players can also sprint this time around, as seen at 1:44.
There is a new character in the game. He is an ex-mercenary, by the looks of it, and is also a playable character.
The game will have diverse shooting, more than just the traditional Resident Evil over-the-shoulder gameplay style.
There seems to be a large focus on set-pieces, and maybe even a few vehicle sections.
You fight huge bosses in the game. El Gigante type enemy shown in the trailer.

According to IGN, the blonde girl is actually Sherry Birkin and not Ashley. Not confirmed by Capcom though.
Many people have theorized that the character is Ashley Graham due to the story's involvement of the president, who may or may not be President Graham. However, our sources have confirmed to us that the character is actually Sherry Birkin, daughter of Resident Evil 2's villain, William Birkin.
hmmm sherry berkin.. 12 years old sya nung resident evil 2. so 10 years after itong resident evil 6 since the first incident sa racoon city (resident evil 2 tama ba?). that would make sherry birkin 22 years old. pwede!
