Namco Bandai Files Pirate Warriors with US Patent and Trademark Office
YORODEMO!!!! Saiyan Island has just stumbled onto what might be the North American One Piece fans dream coming true! Namco Bandai Games has recently filed a trademark for “Pirate Warriors†with the United States (US) Patent and Trademark Office! The trademark was filed earlier this month on February 1, 2012, with the type of good listed as a video game.
Fans around the world have been praying for One Piece to make it’s PS3 debut and Namco Bandai seems intent on answering the call. Japan is confirmed and set on getting One Piece: Pirate Warriors (translated as One Piece: Kaizoku Musou) on the PlayStation3 this March 1, 2012. The doors of possibility swung wide open back in December for Europe as Namco Bandai had filed “Pirate Warriors†with the European Union’s trademark office. And finally, North American fans can breathe a little easier as the same trademark has been filed with the US office.
Filing a trademark is only one step in bringing One Piece PS3 to North America and Europe. One Piece: Pirate Warriors has not been officially announced in either region so there is no guarantee that the game will ever come overseas. At Saiyan Island, however, we are extremely optimistic and have instilled our confidence in Namco Bandai to deliver what us One Piece fans so much desire!
One Piece: Pirate Warriors Features 1-2 Players Online (Rumor)
It’s only February 12, but it looks like some lucky person may have already gotten One Piece: Pirate Warriors (One Piece: Kaizoku Musou)! A Japanese blogger has released the back cover art for the up-coming Japanese version of One Piece: Pirate Warriors. Take this with a grain of salt because we’re not entirely sure if this is real. You may even want to call it a rumor since fans can get pretty creative with these things! If it is indeed true, however, then it looks like 1-2 players can play One Piece: Pirate Warriors online! Additionally, the blogger mentions there will be voice chat and the back cover has “4400MB†next to “HDD†meaning that the game will probably be a 4 GB install.
Now you may be wondering if the online is co-op, 1-on-1, fighting, or tag team. At this time we’re unsure as there hasn’t been any information revealed on that. Again though, take all this online talk and the picture of the back cover art as rumor for now. We don’t recall seeing any official word on this.
Unrelated to online – One Piece: Pirate Warriors will have a mode called Main Log and another called Another Log. Main Log will follow Luffy through the original One Piece story we all know and love. Another Log will put characters in the place of other characters such as Zoro, Chopper, Hancock, and Ace.

One Piece Musou Has 500,000 Orders
Gold PS3 system has first-ever manufacturing process.
(adriasang)
Retailers have already placed 500,000 orders for One Piece Pirate Musou, Namco Bandai Games vice president Shin Unozawa said at the game's completion ceremony press conference earlier today. The long awaited pairing of One Piece and Tecmo Koei's Dynasty Warriors series sees release on March 1, exclusively on PlayStaiton 3.
The press conference was also attended by Sony Computer Entertainment Japan president Hiroshi Kawano, who commented about the game's Gold Edition hardware bundle. While the PS3 has previously seen special hardware editions designed to match games like Final Fantasy XIII and Yakuza, different from those, the One Piece PS3 system design is not made through paint, but as part of the pressing process. This is the first time a PS3 has been produced with this technique, said Kawano.
In the land of the rising sun, Namco Bandai Games held a press conference to commemorate the completed development of One Piece: Pirate Warriors (One Piece: Kaizoku Musou) earlier today. Key members from Namco Bandai, Shonen Jump, and Sony were on hand to express their joy in the game’s completion and reveal that a new commercial will begin airing on February 27th o promote the game. They also revealed One Piece mangaka Eiichiro Oda drew an image as a show of thanks for creating the game. Below are some images from the event, including screenshots from the game and the golden PS3!
The pictures and news are from Japanese website Famitsu. If we understood the article correctly, and we may not have, it also seems that One Piece: Pirate Warriors already has over 500,000 pre-orders!
One Piece PS3, One Piece: Pirate Warriors (or One Piece: Kaizoku Musou in Japanese), is the first One Piece game on the Sony PlayStation 3. It will cover One Piece Part 1 as well as some of the story contents of the One Piece timeskip. The game is in development by Omega Force and will be published by Namco Bandai Games and Tecmo Koei in Japan on March 1, 2012. A European and North American release are possible based on trademark filings by Namco Bandai, but no official word has been released.
A new One Piece: Pirate Warriors (One Piece: Kaizoku Musou) scan has been released! While the scan is new, it is pretty much a compilation of things we’ve already seen. There is character art of Ace and Luffy along with some screenshots of them and a message from One Piece mangaka Eiichiro Oda. Additionally, we have added two more images from this morning’s One Piece press conference in Japan. You can see more pictures here. http://www.saiyanisland.com/2012/02/one ... onference/
Magellan and Mr. 3 Make Their Way to One Piece: Pirate Warriors
Saiyan Island’s Luffy’s Muso has sent over a brand new scan for One Piece: Pirate Warriors (One Piece: Kaizoku Musou)! It shows three big bosses – Impel Down’s Chief Warden Magellan, Marine Admiral Aokiji, and a Pacifista!
The scan mentions there will be a challenge mode where players can go back and fight with every boss in the game, compete for high scores that will show up on an online leaderboard. Players will have to fight multiple bosses, which may be why we see Luffy on one side former Baroque Works members Crocodile, Mr. 3 (Galdino), and Mr. 2 (Bon Clay) on the other. Unless they are also playable too, but we don’t know about that.
UPDATE: Luffy with wax armor is also in! There is a small screenshot to the left of Luffy’s character art.
In addition to the video game, Treasure Box, and gold edition PS3 bundle, a stand alone One Piece: Pirate Warriors (One Piece: Kaizoku Musou) strategy guide will make it’s debut at Japanese retailers on March 1st, 2012! The guide will retail in Japan for 1,100 yen, (around $14 USD) and will contain information on how to easily finish the game. As a bonus, a Luffy trading card and a code to unlock a custom PS3 theme will be included.
One Piece: Pirate Warriors Drum Island, Enies Lobby Arc Videos
Namco Bandai Games Japan has released two brand new videos for One Piece: Pirate Warriors (One Piece: Kaizoku Musou in Japanese). Combined, these videos are only 30 seconds long, but they cover some key points in the Drum Island arc and Enies Lobby arcs.
