IO Looking to Make Hitman: Absolution More Accessible Whilst Still Retaining its More Hardcore Side

The Hitman franchise has generally been an unforgiving collection of games, with a necessity to be almost perfect in some situations if you are to succeed. We’ll tell you that, even IO Interactive will tell you that and for Hitman: Absolution, they’re looking to make it more accessible, whilst still retaining its hardcore side.

In a recent interview with Digital Trends, Tore Blystad, Game Director at IO Interactive, touched upon this and a few other aspects of the title that’s set for a 2012 launch.

“The Hitman games of the past have been very hardcore,” stressed Blystad. “Even though the fantasy of the Hitman universe has a very universal appeal, the games have been so difficult to play, that it's been more of an acquired taste.”

“The biggest challenge that we had with this game was to make it much broader in every sense, so that it was easier to play and more accessible, but still retain a very strong, hardcore side as well. We don't want to alienate any of our fans who have been extremely loyal for so many years.”

Blystad also touches upon the engine a little, noting, ““Everything in the game now is based on real-time feedback within the game engine. Every action is updating in real-time, which is a change from how we worked before. When it comes to the game’s features, we have a separate tech team and gameplay team that work together to ensure the new features work in the game.”

The AI, according to Blystad, has taken the most time to develop, and it’s been done so to make the NPCs react more naturally and accurately in any given situation.

The article also mentions that Keith Carradine (Frank Lundy from Dexter) and Marsha Thomason (Naomi Dorrit from Lost) will play Blake Dexter and Diana Burnwood respectively.

^I agree although medyo understandable kasi kailangan nila yung extra sales e lalo na't mahigpit ang competition ngayon for games. Medyo nakakalungkot na na-casualize na yung ibang games ngayon. Isang very obvious ay yung Splinter Cell: Conviction.

Bad news for me. Ewan ko lang sa inyo.

Of course, he did have one very substantial advantage: a new tool called instinct, which functions a lot like detective vision in Batman: Arkham Asylum. It's an alternate vision mode that outlines enemies--very useful in this dark and ominous library level--and gives you a small visible pathway that your enemy is walking along.

During this demo, it always seemed like there was an extremely useful weapon placed right before an enemy encounter, whether it was the aforementioned power cord or bust or the bong sitting right before the doorway of the pothead hideout that you could use to bludgeon a pair of police officers who stormed in looking for you.

It's a game that seems to be aiming for more of a scripted, cinematic style than previous games in the series.

Laroin mo na yung previous Hitman games. Available sa datablitz ang Hitman trilogy for PS2 (Hitman 2-4).

Medyo ginawang casual na kasi yung gameplay nitong Hitman 5 ayon sa nabasa ko.
